Chapter Four: Tainted Love

8/1/16: I'm still so sorry that these chapters are so sporadic. It just annoys all of you reading and it makes me feel bad. So from now on, I'm going to *hopefully* post a new chapter once a week, and then I'll see how that goes. Let me know if that works! Now, onto the main event!

Tristan's POV
Oooookkkkay, so I didn't expect to see Maya that fast, let alone talk to her. I haven't had any time to think about what to say. I wanted to scream at her some more like I did when I first found out that she ratted on me, but I also just wanted to cry and hug her really tight because she means so much to me and I don't want to lose her. I didn't know what to do, so I just ran off. My mind just went blank and the "Fight or Flight" responses took action, and I chose flight. My emotions have never been that out of control before, and it scared me half to death.

Maya started to run after me, as I expected. But she didn't get very far, because Miles stopped her in her tracks and started to talk to her (just to allow me to escape.. I think, I'm trying not to read too much into it because I'm not in the mood to think about the possibilities of Miles still being into Maya.. uh crap).

Maya's POV
It took so much nerve for me to walk up to Tristan. Like I've never been in a friend fight this bad before (besides with Tori and I when I kissed Zig, but this is very different than that one), so I didn't really know how to handle myself. I was a complete mess, and I know Tris was too. I made a decision that I know was wrong, so it was time for me to *hopefully* make up for it (even though those chances were slim).

So while walking to class, I saw Tristan in the halls and seized the perfect opportunity (or at least what I thought was perfect), but when I said hi, he ran away. Like, I was trying to make things right, why couldn't he have seen that? It's literally been a couple weeks since we last spoke. We both had time to cool off, so I figured he'd be ready to talk, but as I went to chase him, Miles stopped me in my tracks.

Tristan POV
I kept running away until I couldn't see Maya anymore, and before I knew it I ended up in the drama room. I just stood there and thought about everything that was happening, when all of a sudden I felt someone behind me.
I turned around and my heart fluttered as I faced that someone.

"Mr. Yates?" I said in a very shocked tone.
