New message from: "Cameron": How many lawyers does it take to change a light-bulb?
3. One to get a ladder, one to fall off the ladder, and one to sue the ladder company.Nina smiled goofy. In her kitchen, preparing herself yet another cup of tea, she received his message. These days after their date, Cameron had been constantly texting her, or calling, when they weren't recording in the studio.
After the first movie, none of them wanted to move. It wasn't up to discussion that he would stay the night. So they put on yet another crappy but funny movie and ended up falling asleep in the couch. Nina woke up with her head snuggled up in his chest with his arms tightly around her waist. Her pajamas from the night before were comfy; she had never felt so cared about from anyone other than Dylan, and waking up beside Cameron was clearly different.
She even felt content getting ready to go to the office after his lame joke now. Few days had passed but they hadn't scheduled up anything else nor he hadn't shown up like he said he might do.
Nina tried not to mind and focused on her job. She could basically work from home but she still needed to cover certain amount of hours per month at the office. As she had at least a meeting that morning, that would be her work day of the week. She thanked the gods for the amazing job, so well payed.
Nina's economical situation wasn't something up to discussion. Dylan, who worked his ass off to get more money, always bothered her about it but she was convinced: she made more than enough for her small necessities and not at all extravagant likings.
She worked doing what she liked. That's why she entered the office with a smile, something out of common within New Yorkian black-coated workers.
Her boss loved the cover presented as much as Nina hated the book; which, ironically, at the end, was something good. Around noon, she was ready with her meeting and had a new project in mind. Having time to kill, she wandered around through the office till she found the exact person she was looking for.
The small office was nice with a huge window that showed the park. It was definitely stylish, Nina adored the office itself almost as much as she adored its owner -- her friend.
Nadia was a sweet lady in her early 30's. She was the main editor, she read over every book sent to the editorial and judged whether it should be published or not, and she usually had things going her way. If she saw potential in a book, it would most likely be accepted. She was picky though, she wasn't one to fall for cliche situations or publish books because they would sell well, opposite to her boss and editorial CEO. The editorial wasn't a business for her but had the true job of promoting literature and books for every liking.
"Oh look who's here today!" She chirped excitedly as soon as Nina appeared in the door.
"Hello Nadia." She smiled, opening her arms for the hug the oldest lady was offering.
"What brought you here today?"
"It's my day in!" She answered, "I got a new project and thought I would drop by to see you. What are you up to?"
She took a step in the front part of her desk, both of them taking a seat. Nadia sighed.
"I have a lot of work. We got around 30 books in the past week."
"Are any of those good?"
"Meh. Some of them are while others not. I'm not very happy." She shook her head.
