This is our humble New Years gift to you, may 2017 be better than 2016. The future is right in front of us, so let's take the better out of it. (Tell us, freshly graduated from high school and almost ready for college).

Just a note that the three of us are going away for the holidays, personally I'm leaving for almost a month an a half so while I can promise to write a lot (which I plan to), I can't promise to update fast, because internet signal is no easy to get. I can't either promise that I (we) won't continue making too many plans for Cameron and Nina's future and how the story will develop in the next 30 chapters, instead of getting my butt on the chair and write... Ah, the inconsistency of the young people these days.

That being said, enjoy the calm before the storm, this chapter basically gets the land ready for all that's to come.

All the love,
Ela, Lena and Mel.

Nina's thoughts were a mess, even when more of twelve hours had happened since Cameron's call. How the hell was she supposed to react to a song like that? Was she being paranoid by what she thought he was thinking? He never once showed any kind of jealousy like that. That wasn't what the song said either. Was he jealous of their friendship? Why would he feel like that?

Her head hurt with the endless possibilities. She checked the time and begun her way to the cafe, in need of her weekly tea and specially for a chat with Maddy. They weren't that close but it was definitely a great company for solitary Nina, who didn't have many girl friends.

She was never bothered by that though, she knew she shouldn't be proud of being a loner but that was simply who she was. She enjoyed her friend's company but the list of her friends was usually cut short, perhaps by her lack of enthusiasm towards making new friends or because of others knowing so. She didn't know.

She made her Saturday routine through the same way every week. Over the years, what kept her sane was always her habit of routines, although that would also be what caused her trouble the most.

The weather was nice enough for her to enjoy being out and let out a breath of relief, somehow it always calmed her to do these small actions she knew by heart. She still didn't feel as secure as she would have liked to but it was definitely a change, and that's what she wanted when moving to New York City. She didn't want to feel trapped anymore, scared of her own shadow following her.

Her life had been a mess over the past two years and she wished she could go back time to the moment before it all started, changing that small action that she knew would change it all. But that wasn't possible and she knew it. She would have to do with what she had.

"Hey Bruno." She said, finding the boy behind the counter in his mom's usual place. "Is your mother around?"

"No, she wasn't feeling quite well so I made her stay upstairs." He shook his head while preparing an order.

"Oh I hope she feels better soon! I was looking forward to seeing her! Give her a hug for me."

He smiled at this, enjoying the affection she demonstrated towards his mother, it had always been the two of them so he always thought she needed more love than what he could give her. Mrs. Aulnette was a lovely woman. Even though life had been hard on her, she managed to put a smile on every customer's face. Nina admired her for that.

"I surely will. Your usual?" Nina nodded as an answer, "Okay, I'll tell Maddy to bring it to your table."

"Thanks, love. How's school going, by the way?"

He smiled sheepishly, "It's only been the first month or so, but it's going really well."

"Smartass is in college, I can't believe it!" Nina smiled at him, hugging him from the other side of the counter. "I'm so happy for you. Tell Maddy I have some chatting I want to do with her, please!"
