Cameron snores were soft. You wouldn't say he was making any sound at all. Nina noticed though, and it made her smile. It made it real, there was actually someone else who slept by her side - like this, for the first time in years. She felt content, accompanied. His sole presence pushing most of her demons away, without really trying to.
She woke up quite early that morning, surprisingly. She had a great night sleep. Not even a bad thought crossed her mind for the first time in years.
She hadn't really got up though, she just lied awake, enjoying his warm in the chilly morning and simply relaxing. When he awakened, he also didn't make any movement and joined her relaxing time. Cuddling and simply talking nonessential stuff. They didn't need to talk about anything. They could just lie there, in their thoughts and commenting something from time to time or really just talking about silly things. It didn't matter, they just enjoyed each other's company and basically waking up beside each other. That was something she could easily get used to.
Now Cameron was sleeping again, after lunch and endless touches of their bodies, she understood he was tired. One had only so much energy. But her mind was awake and she didn't feel like sleeping anymore.
So now she found herself staring again at her empty wall, that light-blue tonality she hated. Brush in hand, she was equipped to make something about it. Cameron slept behind her, laying on his stomach, sprawled between her white sheets. She tried to make the less sound possible and just focused in what she was doing.
She opened the paint and got everything ready. She even changed into old clothes and covered the floor with newspapers to not ruin it. Probably the first step, drowning the brush in the paint for the first time, staining the wall, was the hardest, but once she started, she couldn't see herself stopping any time soon. She smiled at the feeling, painting truly made her happy, even though she hadn't really started yet.
She got a pencil and started to outline the roots of it, just the beginning of the story, until she felt content with them.
Cameron mumbled something that sounded like her name, thought she wouldn't be able to tell. Half because she was distracted and half because of his sleepy voice.
Nina left the pencil aside and walked to the bed, not so nicely throwing herself over his back. "Hey sleeping beauty."
He looked over his shoulder at her and rolled, now laying on his back. He wrapped his arms around her. She might get used to this affection, it was not something she craved but it somehow came out naturally with him.
"Hey. What were you doing? You've been up for a while?"
"Kind of. Painting." She answered quite shortly, signaling the wall with her head.
"Wow. That's great. That's more than painting a paper or drawing."
"Yeah, it'll take some time. We'll see how it goes." She shrugged. "Do you think a jumper is a good gift for Matty?" She asked changing the topic.
He passed a hand through his hair, somehow managing to mess it up even more that it already was.
"He's like a little kid, he'll love anything you give him."
"We'll be going together from here, right?"
"Yeah, sure. They said we should drop by early and just hang." Cameron positioned himself better, using the wall to rest back, still holding her in his arms. "His birthday is actually tomorrow but he always starts the celebrations early."
"You guys are getting old."
"Don't remind me."
"C'mon." She said, patting his bare chest. "Let's get ready."
"That means I get to shower with you?"
"In your dreams, Cameron."

"Oh daaaamn." Were Matty's words when he opened the suit's door. "Look who decided to drop by." He shout.
"Cameron! Where the hell were you last night?!" Added Nate.
"You sneaky bitches! He got laid! I'm sure." Hunter said.
"Oh shut up you nosy asses." Cameron shrugged them off, entering the room with his arms around Nina's shoulders, his whole self involving her. His hair with the smell of her shampoo after the quick shower he took, still in his clothes from the night before.
Nina notices Dylan already in the room, near the balcony. Behind everybody else. He looked impressed, a look of surprised in his eyes.
YO BITCH, YOU FUCKED he mouthed. Of course he would notice, she never could hide anything from him.
Clearly everyone had noticed as well, by the looks they throw their way and the endless jokes. Arriving together and their cuddling up definitely didn't cover it up well. After all, she didn't care much, this solved the problem of actually telling people what had happened.
Dylan would want to know the details though, she didn't doubt it, and he was fast to show how mad he was that she was ignoring his calls. Chicks (or something like that) before dicks, thank you very much.
Nina just laughed him off, and hide herself deeper into Cameron's chest, finding some kind of protection in the action, he dealt with the jokes much better than she did. After all, if she ignored the jokes about a possible relationship between them, she wouldn't overthink it and possibly, most definitely ruin everything.
Sadly no one let Cameron choose the music for the night, even though Nina would have appreciated it very much, whether she wanted to admit it or not.
"Nina!" It wasn't long till she got stolen away by Matty's girlfriend, Olivia. "Hey there, you! I don't even want to know where you've been hiding."
Nina laughed, "I'm sure it was nowhere you haven't been with Matty."
"Well, you win this time. Welcome to the family, then!" Olivia smiled fondly at her, it felt like this was what she had wanted the most for some time. "I miss having girl friends around! None of them has had a formal couple in some time."
"Ow, I feel you. I never had many girl friends." Nina nodded.
She had a feeling though that she was already becoming good friends with Olivia.
