Shadowhunters Imagines {Slowish Updates}

A. Lightwood // Bow and Arrow

You could visibly see the stress on Alec. His parents were pressuring him to run the institute better, Jace was disobeying him to help Clary, Simon was always in trouble, and Izzy was being a little more rebellious than usual. It seemed as if the only person not doing anything to stress him out was you. You purposefully kept out of his way as to not cause him any stress. But all this stress was taking its toll on Alec. He couldn't sleep, couldn't focus, he could barely walk. So when an important mission came up it was you who led the mission instead of him, without his knowledge of course. When he found out you were intercepting the mission requests so he wouldn't know about them he became angry.

"Y/N, why haven't you been letting me know about missions?" Alec yelled across the institute. Everyone was now staring. They all knew you had been doing this and why you were doing it, but nobody had the guts to stand up and tell him. Alec never got angry, but when he did it was like a level 5 hurricane. You stopped talking to the group of shadowhunters you were working with on the next mission and turned around. "Because you are exhausted from stress." You said calmly. "No, I'm not. I am perfectly capable of going on a mission." Alec said irritated. "Really? Ok, then grab your bow and meet me in the training room." You said walking towards the training room.

You stood in front of one of the targets as Alec walked up the steps. Everyone saw you and didn't know what to say. Well, except for Jace and Izzy who ran up and started shouting.

"Are you crazy Y/N?"
"You're going to hurt yourself?"

"It's okay guys I know what I'm doing." You stated as calm as ever. Alec looked at you still not knowing what you were doing. "Alec you are going to shoot me." You stated. Everyone, and I mean everyone looked at you as if you had five heads. "What Y/N I'm not going to shoot you!" Alec yelled. "Exactly get the arrow as close to me as possible without hurting me and you can start heading missions again." You stated. You were confident he wouldn't hurt you he loved you. He got his bow ready as Jace, Izzy and Clary stood to the side.

Alec got ready holding up his bow, but he had to keep readjusting himself and refocusing. Izzy getting irritated yelled at him, "Just shoot!"

Alec jumped and let the arrow go flying. It seemed as if everything was in slow motion. Everyone held their breath, waiting for the impact. You closed your eyes, when you felt the rush of wind by your face. You looked over and saw an arrow about a foot from your head. Alec let out a breath, seeing you okay.

"Not close enough, try again." You said.

"Okay, Y/N, I think he's done. We don't need you hurt." Jace said.

"No!" You yelled. Everyone stopped. You had never been so forceful with your voice before, even Alec was surprised. "Alec wants to come back and be mission leader, so he needs to make the perfect precision shots, he's made in the past, so he can protect everyone, like he believe's he has to do. I'd rather have him mad at me because I'm keeping him from mission's than depressed and mopey about losing someone because he couldn't shoot and save them in time." You said forcefully. "Now, Alec, shoot me. As close as you can and you can go back on missions."

Alec took a deep breath in and got himself ready. He wanted to go on missions, but you were right. He wouldn't forgive himself if someone got hurt because he couldn't shoot accurately. He held up his bow and aimed for right next to your arm. He took a breath and let the arrow fly. It took a few moments, but you felt a stinging pain in the right side of your stomach. You looked down and saw an arrow sticking out of your side and blood slowly leaking from the arrow.

"Y/N!" Clary yelled.

Clary and Izzy came running to you as you slid down the wall. The wound wasn't fatal, at most it broke a rib or two, but it stung like hell. Alec stood there watching, as the scene unfolded. Jace ran to him, to make sure he was okay.

"Hey, Alec, she's fine." Jace said.

"Jace, take her to the infirmary." Izzy commanded.

Jace looked over before turning back to Alec, "She's fine the wound isn't fatal." Jace said before walking over to you and picking you up.

Alec watched as Jace left with you in his arms and felt mad. Mad at himself. He hated the fact that he hurt you. even if the wound isn't fatal you would still be hurt for a couple days till you healed completely.

"Hey Alec, she-"

"Izzy, I don't want to talk about it." Alec interrupted walking away to his room.

It was almost a full 24-hours before Alec came to see you in the infirmary. He didn't want to face you. He knew you weren't hrt that bad and that you weren't mad at him, he was just scared that he might, somehow, hurt you again.

"Hey, Y/N, how you doing?" he asked as he stepped into the infirmary.

You looked up, "I'm doing fine, just relaxing, reading, you know mundane things." you sighed.

"Are you healed?" Alec asked coming to sit next to you on the bed.

"It takes a little longer than 24-hours to completely, Alec. Even for Shadowhunters." You giggled.

"Right, sorry. And I'm also sorry about not believing you. You were right not to tell me about the missions to help keep my stress down and I'm sorry I didn't listen to yo when you said to slow down and relax every once in awhile." Alec stated.

"You're fine Alec. I love you and all I'm trying to do is help you, mostly because I'd like to be able to marry you one day. And all this stress will not help with that." you smiled.

"Well, thank you. Anyways, I will see you later. I have to go help Maryse with something. I love you." He said kissing your forehead.

"I love you more." You giggled watching him leave.
