"Maryse you will take this girl with you when you return to the institute. She is to be assigned to your institute and will train under your son Alec Lightwood, one of the best shadowhunters in New York, until she is ready for outside missions. That time will be determined by us and us alone. Is this understood?" You stepped forward with the unknown clave member as she told Maryse what had been decided about you. "I understand." Maryse said. "Good. Go on." The clave member said nodding her head in your direction. You walked up to Maryse, "Hello, I'm Y/N Y/L/N." You said. "Nice to meet you." Maryse nodded. You nodded your head back and walked to stand behind her. "Maryse you are also to address the Seelie problem going on and keep the fairchild out of it." The clave member said. Maryse nodded and bowed her head, then started to walk out. You followed close behind.

Exiting out of the room you walked closely behind Maryse. You followed Maryse down several halls, finally getting to the door she was looking for. It was a standing portal that took you where you needed to be. Maryse opened the door and held out her hand. "Take my hand." she commanded. You took her hand without hesitation and followed her through the portal.

You came out of the portal in a hallway with two girls standing there. Maryse let go of your hand and kept walking with you walking behind. "Isabelle dressed to impress I see and you've been playing with the family heirlooms." The brunette girl looked down, while the other started to speak, "Hi, I'm Clary Fray-" "Clary Fairchild." Maryse interrupted. "You look just like your mother. We know all about you in Idris." Maryse continued. "Idris?" Clary asked confused. "The shadowhunter homeland." Isabelle answered. "If you think the institute is well hidden wait til you see that place." Isabelle stated looking towards Clary. "How's Max? We all miss him." Isabelle wondered looking back towards Maryse. You zoned out as they kept talking thinking about this being your new home, it was going to be strange. You had lived at the Paris institute all your life with your parents, until they sent you away to be assigned to a different institute. You saw Maryse push passed the girl's and shook away your thoughts. The girl's looked at you now noticing you were there. "Are you new?" Isabelle asked. "Yes. Sorry I have to stay with Maryse till I find the person I am to train under." you said while starting to follow after Maryse. You heard the girl's say something behind you, but you were too far ahead to hear.

You caught up with Maryse watching a blonde boy train with a seraph blade. You stand there watching his movements as you hear footsteps ascending the stairs behind you. Still concentrating on the movements of the boy in front of you, you hear the voices of Clary and Isabelle, but drown them out with thoughts of how to train and maybe one day be as good as the boy in front of you. Minutes later the boy finishes and looks over towards Maryse. Maryse opens her arms slightly walking towards the boy. "Maryse, it's good to see you." he says as they hug each other. "How is everyone in Idris? Where's a- where's Max?" the boy asks. "No Max, but she did bring along another girl." Izzy said walking up towards the boy. All attention turns towards me. "Mother welcome back." you turn towards the voice and see a tall boy walking towards Maryse to hug her. "We didn't expect you." "You should be prepared weather you expect me or not." Maryse says turning back to the Isabelle. "Yes I have brought back a girl. "This is Y/N. Why she is here will be revealed soon, but there is a bigger matter at hand." Maryse said dismissing the topic of you for now. "The seelies have stopped communicating with the Clave and won't explain why. My guess is they're still upset we asked them to send Scouts to look for Valentine but no one in the realm will talk." Maryse said circling the group of teenagers. "I have seelie friends." Isabelle said. "Yes, I know about your friend." Maryse stated rudely. "Isabelle we stay separate from the downworlders for good reasons." Maryse continued. You had no interest in this conversation between mother and daughter so you zoned out again. This time thinking of the tall brunette boy. You knew you were to train under Alec Lightwood, Maryse's son, and that boy called Maryse mother. He seemed like he would work you till you got everything perfect, little did he know you were trained by the best of the Paris institute. This training was merely just a refresher and you would be able to beat him in the blink of an eye. You heard Maryse mention your name and zoned back into real life. "Life is not about what you want to do it is about what must be done. I have given you your assignment's now carry them out! You and you with me now!" Maryse said loudly pointing to Isabelle and the blonde boy then walking down the steps, with both of them following behind. You stood there looking at Clary and the boy. "I can't believe I have to watch you and train her!" Alec said frustrated and walking away. You looked shocked and watched him leave. Clary walked over to you. "Don't worry. Alec is always like that." Clary said. "I didn't even ask to be here. I was perfectly happy in Paris." You told her. "I promise he'll warm up to you. Let's go get you settled." Clary suggested walking down the stairs leading you to your room.

Later on, while you were in your room, Clary was talking with Alec in another room. "Alec?" "No." Alec responded. "Listen, I know you hate me and I'm fine with that, but Y/N is a different person. She grew up a shadowhunter, you just need to 'fine tune' her for actual outside missions." Clary said trying to reason with Alec. "I don't want to train anyone. And I'll probably have to work so much harder to train her." Alec stated. Clary stood right in front of Alec. "Your mother told you too so you have too, its the rules." Clary stated "Screw the rules." Alec exclaimed. "Just give her a chance Alec, she might surprise you." Clary said. Alec Looked at Clary, "Fine, I'll give her a chance." Clary smiled. "Okay i'll go get her." Alec thought for a moment. "This might not be so bad. Yeah, Alec, come on perk up." Alec mumbled to himself heading towards the training room.
