M. Bane // 'I Love You'

It was just after the ambush to get Meliorn back from Alec and Lydia, and you were lying on Magnus' couch bleeding out of your side. You had been asleep for a while and when you woke you could hear a conversation in the other room.

"It's really nothing Clary. You sister will be back up and fighting in a couple days. She's strong just like you," a voice, that you guessed to be Magnus, said.

"I know, but I just, ugh, it's so hard to see her hurt. I dragged her into this. If I had never followed Jace into the club none of this would have happened." Clary sighed frustrated. She had never wanted to see you hurt and here you were lying on a warlock's couch, hurt from fighting a fellow shadowhunter.

"Clary, you would have gotten into this sooner or later. Your mom would have eventually told both you and Y/N. Her getting hurt has nothing to do with you and all to do with the miscommunication and mistrust the institute has going on right now." Magnus stated.

"But-"

"No buts. Go help Izzy and Jace with the repercussions of what happened and find Valentine. If you find Valentine all of this will be right again." Magnus smiled.

"Fine, please take care of her. I love her and right now she's the only family i have. I need her." Clary said before assumedly leaving Magnus' apartment to go find Jace and/or Izzy.

The door opened and you saw Magnus walking through so you tried to sit up, wincing at the pain in your side when you moved.

"Hey, calm down, there is no need to move. Just relax and sleep, you heal faster if you stay still." Magnus informed.

"You and I both know that is a complete lie." You smiled.

"Ok, it is, but really stay still, sleep. This is probably the most down time you have gotten in a while since you found out you were a shadowhunter." Magnus pointed out.

"Yes, it is, but I can't sleep with the pain running up and down my side." you winced.

"Well," Magnus started picking up your head and sitting down to lay your head on his lap. "Just lay down and relax." Magnus smiled starting to pet your hair.

You slowly started to feel tired. Your pain started to leave your body. You felt extremely happy, almost like you were drugged.

"Magnus what are you doing?" You yawned.

"Nothing Darling. Just fall asleep." Magnus sighed.

Yo started rambling sleepily and Magnus just smiled at you, until you said it.

"Magnus, I love you." You started. "I love that you take care of me and Clary. I love you because you are kind and sweet and your smile could light up the city on a black out. I love yo because you're you, you are on special person, who is so undeniably hard to love." You sighed.

Magnus looked at you shocked. He had loved you for a long time too, but he had not wanted to say something for fear he would upset you and ruin your relationship.

"I'm sorry I didn't say anything sooner. I have loved you for a while, but I felt as if Jace, Alec, and Izzy would look at me different if I had said I loved anyone, let alone a warlock." You stated.

You were very aware of what you were saying but in you sleepy state you had no control over what you were saying and it terrified you. What if he says you doesn't like you? What if you just ruined everything?

"Good night Magnus. I love you." You sighed.

You fell asleep and slowly you forgot all about what had happened only moments ago.
