Chapter 9
It is dark in the common room, but as I look out of the window I can just see the golden rays of the sun peaking over the trees of the forest. I step out of the portrait hole and race down the moving stairs, and come to a halt out side one of the several courtyards at Hogwarts. Scorpius is there, dressed in a warm winter coat like me. I run up to him and he wraps his arms around me a lifts me into the air, turns, then places me back down
I laugh "I'm so glad you made it!"
We have decided to keep things between us seceret for now. So we meet up in the dead of night or at the crack of dawn. It's Tuesday so we both have classes later, to be honest I'm really tired.
We step out into the yard and slowly walk over to the grass patch in the middle.
The cool wind licks at my nose and the frosty air stings my face.
We sit down together near the base of a tree.
I rest my head on his shoulder as we talk about his parents.
They might be getting devorsed.
"they just can't cope with each other" explained scorpius
"it'll turn out alright, you'll see" I say reassuringly
The sun begins to creep over the sky but it is soon blocked by heavy clouds.
Then the first snowflake fell.
Shaped like a small circle, it filtered down from the sky and landed squarely on scorps nose.
He tilt his head to the heavens
"did you see that!"
Then they fall in the thousands, cascading down from above and giving everything a thick coating of crisp white.
The first snow of winter.
