chapter 30

"who? who's back?!"  I ask scorpius

he sighs and puts an arm around me, pulling me back out into the hall.

he ignores the gasps and looks of confusion being sent our way.

we're exposed now.

he just made that decision, and I don't really mind.

I'm happy that people know - the happiness doesn't last long.

"what the heck rose?!" yells Dani from the Gryffindor table "why has malfoy got his arm around you?" she sounds worried and confused.

I see albus pulling on her robes

"shut up Dani, there dating!" he hisses, remembering me and scorpius at the wedding.

I smile at albus thanks , he doesn't smile back, he looks at me, down at the papers, then back at me.

scorpius leads me over to the slytherin table.

they all stand back as if I carry a disease.

scorpius ignores it, again.

he sits down on the wooden bench and reaches for three newspapers.

I sit next to him and look around.

every person is watching.

they've all seen the papers, I'm the last one to see.

scorpius drags the papers towards me,he hesitates and glances at me, then spreads out the papers in a line.

I read the headline of the first one:

THE DARK LORDS FOLLOWERS, ON THE RISE?

I flinch and read the next one:

DEATH EATER ATTACKS  ACROSS THE COUNTRY-WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE MINISTRY?

then finally the last one, my heart pounding in my chest:

DEATH EATERS ON THE RISE. IS THIS ANOTHER WAR ?
