Chapter 9-Jason/Piper

Hey. What's up? I CAN'T WAIT FOR ALLEGAINT! OMG. Right now (for me) its the 19th of October & it comes out on the 22nd!! FREAKING OUT HERE!

Okay to refresh your memory: So in the last chappie, there was a monster fight. At the end, when the monster (the purple & green dragon) fell into the sea, it knocked the Argo II over. Piper fell into the sea.

I wonder what happens...

JASON

Jason & Leo were still flying when the Argo II tipped over. They heard their friends screams, and saw them topple overboard. Their friends popped out on top of the sea, bobbing in the waves from the monster crashing. Jason looked at them, glad that they were okay, and suddenly noticed something was missing.

More specifically, someone.

Piper.

Jason started breathing hard, scared, he had no idea where Piper might be. His heart felt like it was tearing apart. She could be sinking to the bottom of the sea, or flung across the ocean, or worse. The monster could have captured her. She could have been killed on impact.

Leo saw Jason panicking, and realized what was wrong. He said softly, "Jason. Calm down. We will find Piper."

Jason looked at Leo, studying his face. He saw that Leo truly believed what he was saying, and started calming down. Jason responded, "Okay. Lets go get the others."

By a miracle, the Argo II had survived the crash, only the mast was smashed. Jason landed Leo on the deck, then started grabbing his friends and bringing them to the deck.

He said to them, "Piper is missing. We have no idea where she is. But I think she is under the water."

Leo spoke up, "I saw a underwater breathing bubble on the Archimedes's Scrolls. I just finished building three of them. I had a weird feeling that we might need them."

Jason said, "Okay. So one person & I go down to rescue Piper. We'll use the third one for Piper." He turned to Leo, "Will you come?"

Leo smiled and replied, "Of course! I would do anything to rescue Beauty Queen."

Jason grinned in relief. Then he scolded himself, Leo was his best friend. Leo was really close to Piper, like a brother and sister. Why had he thought Leo wouldn't help him?

After Leo and Jason got set up, they jumped into the water, pushing the activate button on the way. A bubble formed around each of them instantly, and Jason had the third bubble thingy in his pocket for Piper. He prayed to all the Gods that he knew that Pipes would be okay, Jason didn't know what he would do if she wasn't.

Leo had given Hazel a list of things they would need for the journey, and they would meet in a small Greek town Festus had said had all the stuff they needed. Hazel promised that they would meet them there, and that the ship would be repaired by then. Leo kissed her on the cheek and he had said, "See you then Metal Detector." Jason was surprised that Frank didn't look mad at all, he must have understood that his relationship with Hazel was over. On one hand, Jason felt sad for Frank, but one the other hand, he was glad Leo and Hazel had gotten together. They both seemed more alive when they were by each other.

Jason was pulled from his thoughts when Leo spoke to him through the transmitter that was in each of the bubbles, "Hey Jason. I think I see something below us."

All of the sudden, the large boulder-looking thing moved. It raised it's burnt head, it's eyes glaring at Jason and Leo, but mostly Leo. Jason squinted at the monster, sure he had seen him before...then it clicked. The monster was the same one they had just defeated! Expect, apparently the monster could breathe underwater! It started swimming fast toward them, licking its lips like he was going to enjoy eating them. Which he probably was. Leo raised his hand, which was on fire. He spoke to Jason, "If I put my hand outside this bubble, my fire will go out. I'm just hoping this will make the monster a bit scared. We need a plan. Do you have a idea?"

Jason thought for a minute, then spoke, "Yes. But it is dangerous. Do you think electricity will harm us in these bubbles?"

Leo understood what he meant right away, and responded, "I don't think so."

Jason nodded his head and said, "Here goes everything." He lifted his hand, calling storm clouds overhead, calling lightning to him, praying that his father would finally help him when he needed him, that he wouldn't let them just die. Jason guessed his dad was listening to his prayers, because lightning struck the sea, stinging Jason with a little bit of electricity. The monster vanished into monster dust. Jason looked at Leo to see if he was alright, but Leo's bubble was floating slowly to the bottom of the sea, with Leo unconscious inside.

PIPER

Piper woke up in a dank, dark cave. She couldn't even see her own hand in front of her face, much less see the wall of the cave. Her wrist hurt like Hades, she could tell that it was either broken or very badly twisted. She crawled around carefully, trying to see if there was a way out, or even simply seeing where the cave ended. But as soon as she crawled five feet in any direction, she was stopped by a invisible force. She pounded on it, trying to break free, but she couldn't.

Suddenly a door opened that she hasn't seen, probably because the cave was so dark, and a cyclops stepped in, growling. The cyclops said, "Quiet down! The mistress is trying to interrogate the prisoners!"

Piper grumbled, "I'll try to be more quiet, madam."

Apparently the cyclops wasn't too bright, because she didn't catch the sarcasm. The cyclops, who Piper had decided was a girl because of the dress she was wearing, spoke, "Well thank you! Most of our prisoners are very mean and taunting. Would you like some food?"

When the cyclops lady mentioned food, her stomach groaned like it had not had food in years. Piper wondered how long she had been in this place. She responded, "Sure."

The cyclops lady walked to open the door, but before she could turn the handle, Annabeth and Percy burst in. Percy had Riptide in his hand, and swung his sword at the cyclops. She crumbled into monster dust.

Piper stared, shocked that Percy and Annabeth were here. She thought they were still in Tartarus, weren't they? Then a terrible thought occurred to her, what if she was in Tartarus too?

Percy walked over to her, smiling sadly, supporting Annabeth around the waist. Piper saw that one of Annabeth's legs were sliced open. It looked like a shallow cut, but by the way it as oozing green puss, it was infected. Piper opened her mouth to ask the question that she feared the answer to, but Percy answered her like he already knew what she was going to ask. He said, "Piper, I'm sorry. Gaea's monster transported you to Tartarus, where we are now. We need to get moving to the Doors though, if we want to reach them in time."

Piper ran toward them, but then she realized she couldn't. The invisible shield was there, Piper still stuck inside. The door opened, monsters running in, with Percy and Annbeth right in their path.
