Chapter 18-Annabeth

Annabeth

Annabeth watched Percy charging into battle, smirking when the Minotaur couldn't hit him. Percy was too fast for the monster, and by the time Annabeth even thought of jumping in, the monster was turning into yellow dust. The demigods ran further away, toward the Doors in the distance, knowing that the monster wouldn't stay dead for long. He would reincarnate and appear somewhere else in Tartarus.

The closer they got to the Doors, the harder it was to walk. It seemed like the earth was turning against them - which wasn't surprising, considering Gaea and all. Wind burst out of nowhere, and everyone fell flat onto their backs - even Jason. They literally started crawling, until Percy snapped and yelled, "I'M DONE WITH THIS!!"

Percy slowly stood up, and Annabeth's eyes widened. How is he standing up in this weather?! she thought. Well, he is Seaweed Brain. He's stubborn enough to do anything.

Percy stretched his arms out, and suddenly thick sheets of ice shot out of the tips of his fingers. The ice made a solid wall in front of them, and the horrible wind was now blowing around them instead of making them fall to their knees. The demigods slowly stood up, looking at the wall of ice. Annabeth knew they were thinking the same thing as she was: Would it break, or would it hold?

It seemed like the latter was the answer when a couple of seconds later the wind doubled in its strength, howling until Annabeth couldn't hear Percy trying to shout to her.

Percy threw his arms out again, releasing more ice until they were in a thick mini 'hut'. The wind wasn't as loud in here, and Annabeth could hear what Percy had been trying to say a minute ago.

"I bet you weren't wise enough to think I could do that, Wise Girl," he teased.

Annabeth went over and slapped him, then gave him a sweet kiss a moment later. "No, I didn't think of that, but neither did you, Seaweed Brain."

Annabeth swore that she heard Piper mutter something that sounded like, "Percabeth," then sigh. Annabeth shook her head, that Beauty Queen was crazy sometimes. Most of the time Annabeth didn't even know what Piper said under her breath most of the time.

Percy replied, "Well, I guess you're happy I acted on instinct, right?"

Annabeth kissed him again, and answered, "Correct Seaweed Brain. Defiantly right."

Leo cleared his throat, and teased the couple by saying, "Yes, that's nice and all. But, before you lovebirds get caught up in each other's 'smartness' or 'instinct' or whatever, can we make a plan to escape this place? I, for one, would not like to stay here a second longer than I have to."

Annabeth rolled her eyes and said, "Okay. We need to make a plan. Any ideas?"

The demigods thought for a moment, then Davis' eyes lit up and he smiled. He announced, "I might have a idea. But it's dangerous."

Percy ruffled his half-brother's hair and laughed, saying, "Oh, Davis. You haven't know me long enough to know that I love dangerous. It's no fun when it's easy."

"Glad we have something else to agree on," Davis said, smiling slyly, "because this is the most dangerous idea I've come up with."

Oh boy, Annabeth thought, This is not going to be fun. Not at all.

I love Davis and Percy acting like the Seaweed Brains that they are.

So, um, yah it's short. Buuuut, I actually have a excuse: I've had to do doctor's appointments all week and my back has been hurting. Also, I have to make up schoolwork. A lot of schoolwork.
