Chapter 14-Hazel

So, I've changed my name from PeaceLoveMine to Dust_And_Shadows

(It's a shadowhunter thing)

Hazel

All Hazel remembered was the mysterious black shadow, Nico and Frank and her screaming as the imagines of horrible evil events went through their minds, and darkness enveloping them at last.

She woke up on the deck of The Argo II, outside of the small Greek town they had stopped at to get supplies from . She remembered that Leo had said it was called "Enura". At first she thought yesterday's events were a dream, and that she had fallen asleep on guard duty, but then she saw the smashed mast with Frank and Coach Hedge snoring underneath it. That's when she realized that Nico was missing.

She frantically woke up Frank and Coach Hedge, explained the situation, and then they searched the whole ship thoroughly for Nico. They couldn't find The Ghost King anywhere, it was like he disappeared into thin air.

Coach Hedge, Frank, and Hazel sat down in the couches by the kitchen to discuss where Nico could be. Frank and Hazel also told Coach Hedge about the weird shadow.

Frank offered a few suggestions to Hazel, like: "Do you think he was captured by monsters?" or "Do you think he went to get supplies to fix the ship?", but none of them sounded right to Hazel. First of all, Nico was almost as powerful as Percy, and a few monsters were easy killing for him. And second of all, Nico would have told Hazel before he left the ship.

Nothing made sense, not until Coach's eyes widened and a spoke in a hushed, fast voice (which was very unlike him). He hurriedly said, "What if the shadow you were taking about captured him?"

Hazel and Frank looked at each other in astonishment, surprised that Coach thought up a good idea, and surprised that they hadn't thought of that.

Frank and Hazel told Coach to watch the ship, telling him not to shoot mortals. They told him they would go to the place where the shadow had captured Nico.

As they walked into town, they noticed what they had not noticed before, what Nico had noticed: Silence. Absolute, eerie silence. Hazel and Frank stood close together as they walked, as if the shadow would try to split them apart.

Hazel and Frank were almost to the spot where the shadow had encountered them, about two streets away, when they heard a "squawk!"

Frank turned around and said, "Hazel, did you hear that?"

Hazel whispered, "I did. And that's eerie, even more so than this silence." The silence had come back after the "squawk," so Frank and Hazel resumed walking to the spot they had begun to think of as the shadow-spot. But just a minute after they resumed walking, they heard "squAWK squAWK!"

The bird, as Hazel had guessed, sounded more irritated now. But as before, after the squawks nothing else happened. They resumed walking again.

When they were less than a street away from the shadow-spot, they heard a whole chorus of angry "sQUAWK"s and saw a huge cluster of crows darting toward them, their beaks pointer and sharper looking than regular crows. They also had eyes filled with bloodlust, like they couldn't wait to poke Frank and Hazel to death with their beaks. Their feathers were pitch black, and seemed to bring the night with them.

Hazel screamed shortly, until Frank clamped his hand over her mouth. He whispered in her ear, "Run!" and they took off faster than they were before, toward the shadow-spot. Hazel got a couple of angry pecks from the faster crows, but didn't get seriously hurt. She saw Frank was okay too.

Right as they hit the spot where the shadow had overtook them, Hazel's vision started to have black dots in it and she fell to the ground, feeling exhausted and dizzy at the same time.

Right before she blacked out, she saw herself and Frank, as if from above, sink unconsciously into the concrete.

The murderous crows flew in after them.

You are probably wondering whether I can end a chappie without a cliffy.

The answer is no. ;P

I always say this, and it always ends up being untrue, but I will try to update again this week, Okay?

Okay. ;)

And I finished Chapter 1-Before (I think that will be the chapter name) of my new original story called Zorno Wars. If you guys would like to see it, just comment. If no one comments I will just give you guys 3 or 4 chapters of Zorno Wars all at once, after I finish them.
