"Why are you wearing a hoodie instead of the school jumper?" Chloe asked when I met her outside school. I somehow managed to get ready in less than ten minutes, unfortunately I spilt my cereal and toothpaste down my jumper and I didn't have time to dry it, so I settled on a hoodie. Which was a bad mistake because it meant everyone was staring at me. Oh well, I should be used to it by now
"I spilt my breakfast down it," I say quietly and she nods, trying not to laugh.
"How was babysitting?" I texted her yesterday because I wanted her to save me, but she had to look after her sister so she couldn't.
"Some bits were awful, but other than that it was alright," I lied, not wanting to tell her about mine and Cayden's moment, yet.
"Did you do the French homework?" She asked.
"Nope," That's right, we got homework on the first day of school but I didn't have time. I suppose it's my own fault for falling asleep.
"Shame, where are The Trio by the way?" She's full off questions today, isn't she.
"No idea-" I was rudely interrupted, hang on...
"FOR NARNIA!" I heard a shout and we turned round. (I'm almost certain Cayden shouted that, he must be in a good mood). We saw Cayden sprinting through the doors past reception, heading our way and a second later we saw Jamie and Alex doing the wheelbarrow, ah so they decided to race to school! That's so cool!
"I won!" Cayden cheered, just as Jamie and Alex got to us. Cay leaned on me, getting his breath back.
"No we won!" Jamie replied and Chloe laughed.
"Lets call it a draw?" I say, stopping there being anymore arguments.
"Fine, but we actually won," Alex said.
"So, how are you today, Leah?" Alex smirked, moving his eyebrows up and down, looking between Cayden and I.
I stepped away from Cay and blushed. He did the same thing.
He did? That's a surprise!
"Have I missed something?" Chloe asked, raising her eyebrows in my direction.
"Yeah, oh my God you should see this picture," Jamie replied excitedly. Chloe's eyes widened and I saw a slight blush as he spoke to her, but she covered it up well. Bless her.
"Picture," Cay asked, shocked. They all huddled together as Jamie showed them, I stood where I was, I don't need to see the picture, I have the memory still clear in my mind.
"Aww," Chloe said, grinning. Could I be any redder?
"What is this question?" Mr Graham asked. I couldn't pay attention. I mean, this is the lesson right before lunch and I am starving, I only had a banana for breakfast!
"Leah, do you know the answer?" He asked me, I brought my head up from my sleeping position and looked at the board. Why did I pick French?
"Do I need to translate it?" I asked. I heard laughter from the back row but I didn't care.
"Yes,"
"My name is Samantha and I live by the sea,"
"In?"
"England," I answered shortly.
"Bravo," I nodded, can I go back to sleep yet?
"Cayden!? Stop talking to Alex and tell me the next answer," I face the back, not believing he was in this class. Since when did he do French?!
"It says 'Can we go to lunch please?'" the girls laughed. Ha ha. Slow clap for Cay. Well done. Tres bein. (Note the sarcasm.)
"No, answer this question, now, or the whole class stays for five minutes," I groaned. How dare he take me away from my beloved food?
"Be quiet Leah. We don't have time for this," Mr Graham shouted.
"I didn't say anything!" I shouted back. I heard a few gasps, is he strict or something? I'm allowed to stand up for myself.
"Detention,"
"For what?! I didn't do anything therefore you can't give me a detention!" What? I'm in a foul mood today.
"Don't answer back or-"
"Or what?" I challenged.
"You'll get a month's worth of detentions and be transferred to a different class!" He shouted. Fine. If that's how he is going to be.
"Fine, as if I care," I then go up to Chloe as I left, speaking as loud as possible,
"Should've taken Spanish," and she held her laughter along with the rest of the class.
"Adios amigos,"

"You should've seen Sir's face as you left!" Jamie said as we all sat down for lunch. Finally, food!
"And the rest of the class didn't pay attention for the rest of the lesson," Chloe said sadly.
"You enjoy French?" Jamie asked, shocked.
"I'm half French," she smiled, proudly. Jamie opened his mouth in shock as she continued to eat her salad.
"Bonjour, Je suis Leah et j'ai dix-sept ans," I spoke to her, feeling pleased with myself.
"Tres bein," she nodded, laughing.
"Stop speaking French, please," Jamie whined and Chloe... didn't.
"Ca va?" She asked him, grinning.
"Huh?"
"Ca va bein merci," I replied for him. Chloe looked impressed, but Jamie banged his head on the table.
"Too much, too much," he complained.
"Jamie are they annoying you? I wouldn't blame you, the nerd and the freak, they're too low even for your standards," Taylor smirked, leaving me speechless.
"Actually, I wouldn't like to even think of what standards you would call high, so if I were you, I'd move on to another table and annoy them," Jamie answered, defending us. Which, I found surprising, but Cay was smiling at him so it must be a good thing. Taylor narrowed her eyes at him,
"You're going to regret that decision, siding with fattie? Did you get knocked in the head as a child?" She asked, very rudely. Jamie stood up, angrily.
"Chloe is not fat and you are going to regret ever being born,"
"Why are you called The Trio? Why not Three blind mice, blind enough to ever be seen with fattie and the freak,"
Excuse me?
"If you're going down that route, your group of followers would be called The Ugly Ducklings and guess what? You would be the ugly duckling," he finished and I burst out laughing as she stormed off.
"Why did you defend me? She's right I'm the outsider in this school," Chloe asked Jamie.
"Because you are not fat, plus, you are never going to go through that again, you have us now," he smiled. I think I just melted, that was so sweet!
"Jamie is right, Leah don't go round thinking you're a freak, right Cayden?" We all looked at Cayden... well we tried to.
"Where'd he go?"
"Oh no, Leah don't look behind you!" Chloe said quickly, but too late.
"Will you go out with me?" Taylor asked. I'm so confused right now. Why are they doing this, here?
"Yes,"
WHAT?!
