Chap 3: Wake Me Up

All week during school I couldn't stop thinking about Gabe! I really want to meet his band, he didn't even tell me the band name so I couldn't google them...

"Alex?" I looked up and saw Mr Maynid, our music teacher trying to get my attention.

"Oh, what?" I said when he was waiting for me to reply.
Everyone in the class was laughing, my face was burning.

"I said what are two quavers called?" He reapeated.

I looked at the board but there was nothing that told me about quavers.

"Um double quavers?" I replied taking a guess, I think it was wrong because the class burst out laughing again. "Pair of quavers" Mr Maynid corrected me.

"Pay attention Alex" He added.
I nodded apolageticly.
This was my first music class Katie and Jenny weren't doing it with me, Katie and me liked completely different subjects and Jenny picked most classes to be with her boyfriend, Taylor.

The bell rang and everyone ran for the door, I picked up my books and started walking out. I was the last one and Mr Maynid called me behind "Alex, go to the art room for detention please." Damn, i was so close to making it outside.
"Sure Mr Maynid" I said.

During detention I sat next to a girl named Janet she was in some of my classes but we never really talked.
She had wavy, strawberry blonde hair and her skin was porcelin white.

The teacher excused her self from the room when another teacher called her for some emergency.

"Hi Alex" Janet said breaking the silence.

"Hi Janet, what is that you're writing?" I asked, she was writing on the table 'IM5'.

"They're a band, you should google them, their songs they are so amazing! I love Will, he is my fave!" She replied. It can't be Gabe's band, nah no way.

"Who else is in the band?" I asked curiously.

"Well theres Dalton, Will, Cole, Gabe and Dana" My jaw dropped and Janet looked at me confused.

"Did you say Gabe?" I yelled.

"Shhh!l" Ms Cansas walked back into the room.

"Detentions over" She said ushering everyone out. Janet and I were first out.

"IM5?" I asked continuing the conversation eager to listen.

"Yeh IM5, why?" She asked. If I tell her I know Gabe she will freak! I ended up telling her everything on the walk home she was screaming the whole way, I told her i'll take her to the studio one day.

"What can you tell me about them?" I asked Janet. She looked exited to answer,

"OK well Will is absalutely adorable and loves to eat, like me! Dalton is so great and handsome! Dana is the youngest, shortest and so cute! Cole is hot and has brown hair! Gabe, you probably already know" she said winking at her last comment.

It's Saturday! Janet or the girls aren't coming today so it's defiantely going to be just Gabe and I!

Also Uncle Peeta and the rest of the studio workers. I wore a high waist floral skirt with a white, cropped singlet today, with my white converse.

When me and Uncle Peeta arrived I was disappointed to see Gabe not already there.

Miss Martin must have realised "What are you looking for? Or who?" She said winking. In surprise I lied unconvincingly

"Oh no one Miss Martin I just dropped my ah... ring". She smiled and left it as that.

I helped around the studio until Gabe arrived, we didn't have time to talk at first because he had to rehearse, Selena was here too. I sat down while I watched the rehearsal, in one scene Gabe was topless. Them abs...

He saw me and we made eye contact for a split second, I flushed again and he smirked.

When the rehearsal was over I went to talk to Selena, I was too embarrassed to speak to Gabe yet.

"Selena!" I yelled when I was walking over to her.

"Hello um...?" She said expecting me to give my name.

"Oh sorry i'm Alex, Peeta's neice" I said introducing myself.

I looked at Gabe he was looking at Selena and I, when we made eye contact he came over to talk to us.

I was grateful that he didn't mention before when he caught me staring.

He seemed interested in Selena.

"So are you looking foward to the movie?" He asked Selena, and they continued talking.

He really knows how to make a girl feel special, I rolled my eyes and left them because I didn't have anything to say.

"Alex?" Gabe called wondering why I left, but he stayed and talked to Selena. Why do I care if he is not talking to me he isn't my boyfriend.

When I was leaving I said bye to everyone and started walking out.

"Wait Alex!" I Gabe called from behind. I stopped and waited for Gabe to catch up.

"I have to leave now too, guess who is picking me up?" He asked.

"Um your mum?" He laughed at my response and shook his head.
He didn't tell me who and just lead the way outside.

When we got outside, a car was waiting infront of the studio, standing infront were four handsome boys.

I recognised them as IM5 from what Janet told me. Dalton was the blonde, Cole was the brunette, Dana was the shortest and I recognised Will because he had chocolate all over his face.

"Hi guys this is Alex she is the directors neice" I waved at all of them and smiled.

"Hi Alex!" They each said.

"Your girlfriend?" Dana asked Gabe. I could tell I was blushing, again.

"Um no Dana" Gabe replied.

"OK can I have her number then?" Dalton said. I blushed even more.

Gabe noticed and he punched Dalton on his shoulder. It was silent and everyone could feel the awkwardness.

Thank god I saw mum's car pull up in the car park. "Bye guys! I have to leave now"
"Bye!" They said in unision.

"We will meet up another day?"

"Yeh, I will bring my friends!"
I said and started walking to the car.
