CHAPTER 6: Whisper

Chapter 6

You woke up on a plain white room. The atmosphere seemed blunt. The wake-up blues hadn't fade out. You rubbed your eyes. You can't see properly, so you reached for your eyeglasses that was on the table beside you. And that's when you realized that you were in your school's clinic.

You looked around. Silence wrapped the room. It was quite dark and damp.Only the lamp in the table was on, and you guessed it was late afternoon. You suddenly felt hungry, so you sat up. As you sat up, that's when you noticed someone sleeping on the side of your bed. Sitting in a chair, his arms were folded and his head resting on it, so you can't see his face.

You poked his head lightly. He quickly jolted up making you scream in surprise. And you were shocked, on who it was,

It was Chanyeol.

"Whaaa?" he mumbled lousily.

His eyes were still droopy from his sleep. *Awe~ He looks so cute... Wait- what?* you confusingly thought.

Then his eyes widened as he stared at you. Chanyeol straightened up, he probably noticed your expression because he waved his hand in front of your still frozen face. You blinked many times and rubbed your eyes, still you cannot believe it was him. You stared at him for so long that he broke your eerie stare.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" He asked.

"Uhm... I-ah Um-Uh...ca-um... I-ahh..." You stuttered.

"What? You can't believe it's me?" He asked while smirking.

Because of his annoying smirk, your senses came back.

"Why are you here? Why am I here? What time is it?" You asked, throwing him many questions.

You then remembered what happened before you passed out,

Flashback

"Yeoboseyo?"

"Yanni!"

"Mom?"

"Yanni, I want you to stay calm okay. Your dad is in the hospital, and our house burned down. I went out to buy groceries and when I came back, fire fighters were there. They said dad got trapped inside and inhaled so much smoke he passed out. I just want you to know we're safe, but your dad hasn't woken up yet..."

Before you could ask something, your mom cut you off.

"Don't worry honey, we're fine I just want to tell you this in advance: we don't have a home for now and we-"

You didn't heard the last part because you passed out.

End of Flashback

"Is my mom and dad ok??? Are they safe?? Where are they??? I must find them!" you cried out.

"Whoa whoa whoa. You are not going anywhere missy," Chanyeol said while making you lie back down as you were trying to get up and stand.

"Why not?? I'm fine!"

"No you're not. The doctor said you still need to rest," Chanyeol said strictly.

"But I need to see my parents. They need me," you pleaded.

"We already called your parents and explained to them your situation, they said they're fine and you must not worry about them. It is better if you take care of yourself first, " Chanyeol explained thoroughly.

"But, wait. Our house is burned down and where do I sleep tonight? " you cried out again.

Chanyeol grinned, "That problem is already solved!"

You were confused on the sudden change of personality of Chanyeol.

*Why is he being so nice to me? What happened to that rude, annoying guy?*

"How come?" you asked in curiousity.

"Your mom and dad will be staying at your uncle's house for a while-"

Before Chanyeol could continue, you reacted quickly.

"But that's miles away! How am I gonna go to school without being late???" You exclaimed.

"That's what I'm trying to explain! Calm down will you." Chanyeol scolded your sudden reaction.

"Oh.Okay.Sorry..." You softly apologized.

"Okay, in order for you not to be late everyday and get kicked out, your parents decided with us that you stay in our dorm," Chanyeol said, smiling while showing his shiny pearls.

"WHAT??? You guys live in a dorm?? And I'm gonna live with 12 boys!?!" The mind-blowing news made you almost lose half of your mind.

"Don't worry. You have a separate room you know," Chanyeol said calmy like everything was all planned out.

"Did my parents really agreed to that?" you asked, getting suspicious of him. Still not believing.

Chanyeol just nodded like an angel while you sigh in defeat.

He shyly stared at you for a while. He then suddenly held your hand tight and you just stared at it, your heart racing. His expression suddenly became serious. "Get well soon Yanni. We were worried. I was worried, " he said. It felt so sincere that it made you shiver. His sudden awareness made you have butterflies in your tummy. He was about to say something again but then the door bursted open, making you two startled. Then, fellow Luhan came in with a bouquet of flowers, followed by your classmates who were bringing pastries and sodas. They quickly filled the room, bringing with them a wholesome mood of happiness and comfort.

"Get well soon Yanni!" They all exclaimed at you while Luhan gave you the bouquet. His cute smile slowly melting every inch of you.

You were so so happy that your classmates were being nice and really cared about you. It wasn't what you expected of them at all.

"Thank you very much! I love you guys!" You said while tearing up and receiving the bouquet.

"YAAAYY!" they all cheered while rounding around you.

"So, I heard your gonna live with us now," Kai abruptly said while smirking his usual smirk.

You just stuck your tongue out while they all laughed.

They gave you some pastries and you started eating it greedily like you haven't eaten in days.

"I told you, Stop eating like a pig!" Chanyeol commented.

*Oh great. Rude Chanyeol is back again.* you thought while giving him a cold glare.

He just gave you his common annoying smirk.
