I feel my hair being tugged at softly, so my eyes flutter open as I sigh heavily from being woken up. When I open my eyes, light blue orbs are directly in my face. I push back slightly and see Dei's smiling face looking down at mine, his hand caressing my bare body.
I raise an eyebrow at him, but ignore that fact that he was being a complete creep and sit up in the sand bed and stretch my limbs slightly as I keep the blanket wrapped around my chest. My arms then drop to my sides with a light thud. I lean over slightly and poke Dei and point to the exit of the cave. He looks at me with a questioning look before I motion to my almost completely nude body.
"Hm. Why do I have to leave? I've seen everything you've got, and frankly I want to see it again, hm." Deidara says nonchalantly. I furrow my eyebrows and shove him roughly off of the bed. He lands with a light thud on the floor.
"Okay okay, I'm going yeah." He says and walks out of the cave. I get up from the bed and stretch once more before walking over to my scroll that's propped up against the stone wall.
After I get dressed, I signal for Deidara to come back inside of the cave so he can get dressed as well.
"Okay, now you get out." He says. I roll my eyes at him and make a sand curtain from the sand used to make the bed. He seems to be okay with it because he doesn't object to it. While he's changing, I put the three bodies in the corner back into their individual sand balls.
After a minute or so, Dei walks out from behind the sand and walks over to me and embraces me.
"So, where to today?" Dei asks. I don't reply because I know he'd hate this one the worst of the four.
"Hm. So, you're not going to tell me because I would try to stop you if I knew who it was, right?" He asked, unamused. I nod my head yes, my face still blank but I knew that Deidara caught the hint of mischief I was giving off. He sighs heavily before kissing my temple, then grabbing our scrolls. He hands me mine and I strap it onto my back before taking off in the direction of the old Akatsuki base.
Today was much darker than usual, the air smelled like burning flesh and the sky was a beautiful pale grey, but the atmosphere was tense.
"You feel it too?" Dei asks from my right side. I throw a glance at him and nod as we approach the scarred earth not too far off from the previous base. I come to a complete stop, but Dei jumps ahead a few steps.
"Why are we stopping here? The only person that died here was- wait. No. No Haleigh, absolutely not." He says, walking back to stand in front of me. I cross my arms over my chest and stare up at him in defiance.
"No. I'm serious. What if when he wakes up he tries to kill you again? I don't want to see that, yeah." He says, pulling me to him, my forehead landing with a slight thump on his chest. I exhale deeply before summoning Koku.
"He won't be able to. Since I'm the one resurrecting them, they'll all be under my control. Even after I release them because it's my darkness that's inside of them, keeping them alive in a way." I explain in Koku's soft voice while looking up at Dei.
"Okay then. I trust you." He says after sighing, raising a hand to run over his face.
"Go look for something of his then, please." I say and release him to begin searching. It amazes me how difficult it is to find something from his body. About ten minutes later, Dei rushes up to me with something dangling from his hand.
"This was his, wasn't it babe? Didn't he use this to tie his pants?" Dei asks, handing me a piece of purple rope. I nod at him, but to be sure I activate my Dāku and check the darkness that lies behind the piece of material. As soon as I look, I can see myself fighting him, the look of pure hatred and determination on my face at the time, making me smirk.
I open my eyes and summon my inner demon as Dei hops away to safety. I then sit down and place the piece of rope on the ground in front of me, hovering my hands over it slightly. When I begin to feel the structure of his body touch my hands I raise them slightly to allow the body to grow. After what seems like only thirty minutes, but I knew it was much longer, the energy leaving my body stops, and Sasuke's body is complete. I sigh in relief as I have now finished bringing back some of the strongest people I know.
"Welcome back, traitor." I say to the still unresponsive body of Sasuke as I dress him and then put him in his own individual sand orb. I then jump over to where Dei is sitting and stretch my limbs.
"All done?" He asks as he eyes the fourth ball of sand behind me. I nod in response and get ready to head back to Konoha as quickly as possible.
"Good, now let's go save your friends' asses. Hm." Deidara says as he smirks and pushes off of the branch he was currently standing on, launching himself forward with me right beside him.
