"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" Dei asks from directly behind me as he attempts to make pace with me. This was urgent, so we needed to move as quick as possible.
"Because you definitely should." I reply simply and look back at him. He has a skeptical look on his face, but he'd follow me regardless of the plan, regardless if he had a bad feeling about it, or of he was scared, or skeptical.
We continue running through the trees for about an hour before I hear Deidara breathing heavily. He was slowing down and lagging pretty far behind.
"Babe?" Deidara calls, but I completely ignore him, because I already knew what he's going to ask.
"Hay?" Dei calls once more while pushing harder to catch up with me. I continue to look ahead and push a bit faster to keep a distance between us.
"HALEIGH!" He finally yells from behind me. I smirk to myself and look over my shoulder at him. He's completely red all over from the heat and is pouring sweat. I slow down slightly for him to catch up and continue to look at him.
"Can we take a break babe? I'm tired, hm." He says between pants as we continue slowly. I shake my head no and he growls in protest and frustration.
"How are you even a ninja? Do you even do any physical training at all?" I ask him as I smirk.
"The only time I work out is when we fu-" My smirk drops quickly as I feel anger rising in me.
"Finish that sentence and I'll kill you. You know what, just for that we aren't taking a break. Let's go." I say seriously and continue pushing forward.
"You wouldn't kill me, you love me too much." Dei says as he grabs my hand and kisses my knuckles.
"You'd be surprised." I say to mess with him. When I see his reaction I smirk even wider. He looks mortified. I pull him closer to me and kiss his jaw line a few times and he relaxes. Yes, I did this while we were running.
"Who are we even going to get this far out, hm? Who do you even know who lives this far out into the forest?" Deidara asks after a few moment of silence.
"See, that's the thing. They kind of aren't living." I explained, staring straight ahead.
"WHAT?!? Oh no, please tell me we aren't going to get-" Deidara begins, throwing his head back and groaning in annoyance.
"Yep. But he won't be responsive until I wake them up." I explain, a smirk tugging at the corner of my mouth.
"Them?!? As in, more than one, yeah?!?" Dei yells, slightly outraged at my statement.
"Yes. I'm going to be getting four bodies." I reply as I throw a glance his way.
"Do you realize how gross that sounded, yeah?" He asks, chuckling while looking in my direction. I just smirk in reply as we continue jumping through the trees.
A few hours later, we were at the location, it took so long because it was even further away from the Leaf Village than the old Akatsuki base. I'd never been there, but I knew it was the correct place by the way it looked. Gigantic rocks littered the entire area, but in the center was the remains of what used to be a completely undisturbed setting.
There were things smashed and blown to bits by this particular battle between the two people who fought here. I approached the scarred earth with Dei following closely behind me.
"Look for anything that belongs to him. Wether it be hair, organs, something he was wearing or whatever. It doesn't matter if it's rotting, I just need something." I say as I started on one side and Deidara on the other.
After about twenty minutes of searching, I was standing in front of a large, flat rock that had a dried up circle of blood right in front of my face. I activated my Dāku and touched it, seeing the battle unfold before my eyes. It ended with his face hitting the rock where I was currently standing, explaining the blood.
I panted slightly just from watching that one scene, it must have been a while ago. I then opened my eyes and looked down, seeing something reflect the sun. I bent down and uncovered it, brushing the dirt away from the small object. It was a metal oval that looked to be slightly broken. I had definitely seen it before.
"Hey Dei, come here for a second." I call, turning the metal over in my fingers, examining it more closely.
"I didn't find anything." He says as he approaches me, almost glumly.
"That's okay. Does this look familiar to you?" I asks as I look up at him, putting the metal oval in front of his face.
"Yeah that looks like a broken link from Itachi's necklace..... OH YOU CAN USE THAT, YEAH!" He says, getting excited. I smirk and sit down on the dirt. I close my eyes and inhale deeply, focusing. I feel the ice spread through my veins as I get into my demonic form.
"Dei, you need to get a good distance away. When I do this, Itachi's new body is going to suck up any chakra it can, which is supposed to be mine. But if you aren't far enough away from me, it'll drain you completely, and you'll die." I say to him. He nods and sprints off. I wait a minute or so and look behind me, and I can't see him, so I begin.
I imagine the battle Sasuke and Itachi had. The sadness he must have felt. The darkness. I felt my hands glowing brightly and my energy being sucked away from me. I focused and pushed harder. I imagine my energy going into the body of Itachi, flowing quickly from my own.
Several long, silent, hours later, my hands stopped glowing, signaling that his recreation was completely done. I panted heavily and opened my eyes to see a perfect looking, very naked, Itachi laying completely still on the ground. I wrap my sand around Itachi's body and pull myself off of the ground.
"Dei! I'm done!" I yell through my light pants and lean back on my hands, trying to catch my breath. He comes flying by my side and examines me.
"You need to rest. I'll carry you." Deidara says as he picks me up with a slight grunt. I sigh at the warmth pouring into my body from him.
"I'm going to slow you down." I say as I look up to him, my face blank.
"So, you need to rest. You've still got 3 more." Deidara argues as he looks down at me lovingly. I sigh heavily at his stubbornness, but get an idea that'll help him.
"This is going to feel like an adrenaline rush but about a hundred times worse, so as soon as I touch you, take off at full speed."
