Gerard and Frank walked into the large building, already knowing where to go. Everyone knew where to go actually. All the teenagers milling around were in their second year of high school. Frank grabbed Gee's hand from behind him and together they walked to to the right line. The right line was considerably shorter than the left, the signs were newer and the lady at the front table didn't look as bored as the one at the left. The couple were third in line but, they expected to actually talk to the fertile at the front in about thirty minuets. Unlike the humans in the left line, who walked up to the table alone and spent at most two minuets collecting their schedules and such, the shifters in the right line had to make their schedules with their mate here and not at home online. It was essential that mates had eight out of nine periods together. The only reason to be apart would be to have dom and fertile classes. If it was the students choice, they would have the classes together and skip their extra curricular ones. But, it's the parents on the board choice and what they say usually goes.
The teenage fertile turned to his mate.
"Do you think they'll be more accepting then last year?" Frank looked at Gee. He could just see his ears flattening to his head and tail tucking under, even through he's walking on two legs. Frank stroked his scalp under his black mop of puffy hair and Gee relaxed considerably, dropping his head to rest on the younger boy's shoulder.
"I don't think so, you know what happened to Ray last year. They're giving us looks already and your not even purring." Frank laughed a little at the end of the sentence, trying to shine light on the dark time of their life's. Gee smiled taking his head off Frank's shoulder and looking over it at the kids behind them before blushing and studying his converse.
"Purr." He said looking up. Frank laughed.
And moved them up in line after another couple left."You wanna take a walk after this, calm your nerves?" Frank asked. Gerard looked up, suddenly giddy.
"Yea." He said, eyes sparkling.

Gerard and Frank walked and hand in hand into the Way residence. Grandma Elena sat on the couch reading a thick spine book while the low booms of Mikey's bass can be herd through the ceiling.
"Where's Ma?" Gerard asked walking downstairs quickly to drop off his schedule.
"DON'T FROGET YOUR CLOTHES FOR AFTER YOU SHIFT!" Frank yelled not even phasing the old woman. She could probably sense the boys the moment they stepped foot on the property anyway.
"OKAY!" He yelled back.
When Gerard stepped back into the TV room he was a cat. Soft footsteps silent to a human ear.
"She went shopping." Elena said. "Where you boys off to today?"
"The park." Frank answered for his mate, considering he could not really talk now.
"Okay you boys be safe."
Frank waved and Gerard meowed before the door was closed.

Frank walks into the his family's back yard. Waving to his father who stands by the kitchen window. He reached up to pet behind Gerard's ears. Frank turns away from the window to the other side of the yard, walking to the shed as Gerard jumps off his shoulder to chase a chipmunk that had wondered under the fence.
Inside the shed he undresses, chucking his clothes into a bag and zippering it up before shifting. Frank grabbed the small back pack in his jaws and walked out.
Gerard had the chipmunk in his claws by the time the door was kicked shut. Frank barked and Gerard's head perked up. He let the scared animal go before following Frank out of the yard and into the woods behind it.
