A Drop in the Ocean

Chapter 1

-Harry's point of view-
My mother told me that this vacation will be an unforgettable one, that we'll be boarding the all famous Titanic, the unsinkable ship.

I've never been a fan of water per say but this is where I'm going to be meeting my future wife, Taylor I think, so there's no way out of this. Her family is well connected and my father told me that this marriage can bring in a lot of new business. I'm just glad that during this departure I'll be with my best friend, Liam, his parents are boarding as well but we'll be rooming together.

As I board the ship I notice sections, I'm in the first for I am first class but I find the last section, third class, way more appealing. The men, women and children are all talking and laughing so loudly that they earn a couple of disgusted looks from my section, including my parents. I can't help but envy them, they don't seem to care about what's going on around them, they're just enjoying themselves.

"The nerve of some people" Anne, my mother, says

"I know sweetheart but it's okay we'll be away from them in no time" Rob, my stepfather, replies

I don't know why they dislike lower class people so much, they've always told me to stay away from them but I can't help but be intrigued. There's something about what you can't have that makes it desirable.

-Louis point of view-
I can't believe I'm going to be boarding The Titanic, of course I won't be a guest, I'll be part of the staff but still I'll be on board and that's all that matters. I had to practically beg my parents to let me take this job, it was the only way I would ever get to be in a ship, let alone the most expensive and luxurious of them all, plus the pay was enough for both my parents to take a little down time.

As I walk towards the ship I notice a guy I met when I first interview for the waiter position. Niall I think was his name, he's about my age and came here for the same reasons I did, to explore the world and all its beauty.

"Okay everyone listen up, you're here to make sure the passengers of this ship have a wonderful experience onboard so I expect everyone to be on their best behavior. You will be given a cabin in the bottom floor of the ship, where you will have a roommate. You may pick your roommate and your room as well but it is important for you to know that this is not a vacation for you, you are not to be around the guest on your free time. If you wish to be out an about you must do it at night and you must wear proper attire. You will be given a schedule in about an hour and when the passengers start to arrive you must be settled in and be where you are suppose to be. Oh and remember the passenger is always right!" the head of the kitchen staff tells us

I instantly try to look for the blonde headed boy, he seemed nice and he made me laugh quite a bit so I would enjoy to have him as a roommate. When I finally spot him I notice that he was looking for me as well, we both make eye contact and communicate through our stare. We both smile and walk towards eachother.

"Hey mate I'm glad I saw you I didn't want to be paired up with one the middle aged cooks for the rest of trip" he tells me, sighing in relief as he does so

I laugh at his honesty, I think this will be a good trip.
