Oops! There's something I didn't know.

"Wow... Umm... That's... definitly something... So they're after you?" I asked akwardly.

"Yeah, they think I'm breaking a law or something." He shrugged. "They wouldn't have given it a big deal if my parents weren't pushing them so hard."

"Your parents-"

"And a 15 year old me." Rob interrupted me. "Thank God I saw the wrong in that organization. I ran away, and started building this little baby by myself (he motioned the warehouse) until Maddie first came along and helped me, then the happy couple out there," I stared at Oli and Jack, still feeling a bit guilty about what the little fight "and finally my baby here came along with a knocked up Asian guy."

I couldn't help but laugh. I realized that these were really nice people. They built this amazing place, and they were offering me to stay in it, offering me shelter and food and clothes.

"So what are we supposed to do now?" I asked, after a little awkward silence.

"Train, fight whoever tries to disrupt the balance." Leena answered.

Okay, easier said than done. I said to myself. But doable.

I wanted to start by apologizing to Jack, but apparently, he was still mad. As soon as I got to the couple, Jack threw me the finger and walked away, leaving me with Oliver.

"So much for saying sorry." I muttered and walked away.

"You know," Oliver stopped me, "Jack isn't the type of person who will forgive just by words."

"So, you want me to have sex with him?"

"No! No!" Oliver panicked. "It's just, umm, you have to show him that you are sorry. He have been betrayed too many times to easily accept an apology."

I stared at the direction Jack stormed off.

"What do I have to do?"

He chuckled. "I don't know. Just do something that shows that you really want to be here."

"Fine..."

I owed it to Jack. He showed me the truth, saved me from the hospital, and from myself. I had to get better.

After lunch, I had some training with Roy. Thank goodness nothing physical or spiritual was involved in there. We were down at the computer room, and started explaining to me all kinds of stuff he made so our missions will go easier, like a wireless turn-off button for security cameras (although I was informed that Maddie liked destroying those stuff), trackers, stun-guns, etc...

"So does these things work on spirits?" I asked, holding the stun-gun.

"I wish," Roy exhaled. "You know how when you and Jack met that snake?"

I shuddered, thinking about it.

"Well he could have easily kept it busy if those guns worked on spirits, unfortunately, they just pass through them."

I looked at the gun one more time, thinking how stupid it is to fight with one of these if you have spiritual powers and stuff.

"Energy balls don't work on them either." He abruptly said.

"Are you kidding me?!" I yelped.

"Your fighting a spirit power with a spirit power, what do you expect?" He chuckled. "They will just absorb it."

"Man... so how do you fight a spirit?"

"With your own. Two spirits can and will fight each other if that is what their casters ask. The caster at the hospital did a smart move. He waited until Jack's spirit was gone to unleash his. All Jack could do was run through it, given his ability to walk through anything, but it would only make the snake angrier, and Jack will get tired at some point. So you both ran. It was the only thing you could do."

He continued to teach me about other technology-related stuff until my head couldn't take it anymore. He saw how tired I was, so he told me to get some rest.

I walked out of the warehouse and went to the woods, just to clear my mind. I tried to wrap my head around everything that happened so far. It was too much, that's for sure. But it's been so long since I had anything on my mind.

Suddenly, I noticed a shadow. Then, it was gone. Uh oh, was my first thought. It appeared somewhere further. Should I follow it? What are you thinking Luke?! You have no experience in anything! Wait a second.

"Maddie, is that you?" I cautiously asked. "Jack?"

There was no response.

"Guys, it's not funny." I swallowed hard. I stepped up slowly toward the shadow. "Look I never loved hide-and-seek when I was a kid so who ever the fuck you are, just show your face."

"Oh come on, Luke." A familiar voice answered. "If anyone knows about your hide-and-seek lie, it's gotta be me."

Yeah, I wished I hadn't said to that person to show his face. He got out from behind the tree, and of course, I recognized him.

"How did that tree hide your fat ass, dad?" I spat dryly.

"Oh come on, I'm not fat!" My dad replied slyly. "I lost 2 pounds in the last week."

"So you're about 298 pound right now. Kudos. What do you want?"

"Don't be silly Luke, I'm here to take you home! I miss you-"

"Ha! At least tell me a better lie, like 'I need your advice on how to love my wife properly' or something!"

"Don't be so harsh, son-"

"I'm not your son! What do you want?"

He looked at me darkly, then slowly said: "How long have you been taking those pills now, Luke? A year and a half? Two years? You know, you should've been dead by know. I'm surprised you can even walk."

He took a step closer, and something came out of his body, until a blue giant bulldog was standing next to him.

"I always knew you were a dog, but not in that way." I muttered, still not believing what I'm seeing.

"I knew you were the one, so did your mother."

"The one what?"

"That's why we fought, you know, because of you. I wanted you to be trained, become stronger, but no, she was too protective. Well, she got what she deserved."

I couldn't believe my ears. He was actually saying that.

"Listen, kid. Leave these kids and come with me right now, or you will meet a fate worse than your mother."
