Jack was patting me on the back while I was still throwing up.

"Well, there goes that whatever-we-had in the cafeteria." Jack murmured.

I gave him a murderous look, and he stepped back, grumbling about how awesome it was to help friends.

I wanted to give him a piece of my mind, you know, all that "you're not my friend" and "I didn't ask for your help" type of crap, but all of that washed away from my mind when I found myself in front of a... warehouse.

I wouldn't call a place like that a warehouse, because whoever lived in this must have had a lot of time and strengh on their hands.

Two huge front metallic doors were opened, showing the perfectly designed place. On the left side, there was some sort of gym, with all the dumbells, weighs, and some hand-made machines. On the right one, there was a huge pile of books. In the far back, a sofa was placed in the middle, with two smaller couches pointed to a T.V. There was a second floor, but it was too high for me to see what was in there.

"You have to admit" Jack said with a wide smile, "that beats the hospital by-"

He couldn't finish his sentence, because he realised he was talking to nobody. I was already walking away. As much as this place looked good, I just saw a supernatural animal kill one of the very few people I actually respect.

"Where are you going?" The blonde girl asked.

"None of your business." I replied flatly.

"Hey, you, grumpy cat," the other girl that was with us called, "don't talk to her like that!"

"Umm, none of your business too." I told her, sarcastically smiling, and I kept walking.

"I'll show you 'business', asshole." She muttered, but I already had my back to her. Big mistake. I felt something push me so hard on my back, it sent me tumbling down the grass and dirt.

"What the-" I couldn't continue, because as soos as I tried to get up, the same thing hit my gut, and I bit back dirt again. Was she that strong?! I mean, if course I was very skinny from all the medication and treatment I went through, but she couldn't send me flying 5 feet in the air.

Until I noticed she hadn't moved. The girl was kicking my ass without moving from her place. Then I saw how she did it. She cupped her hands together, and when she opened them, I saw some sort of energy sparkling inside. She was about to throw it at me before Jack grabbed her wrist.

"Can we try reasonning with him first?" He looked at her sternly.

She yanked her hand away from him and walked towards me as if to hit me personally.

"When someone offers you help, don't play the 'hard to get' person, because it will leave your ass on the ground, just like yours is right now. So when the world lends you a hand, drop the bullshit attitude and take it!" She yelled.

She turned around, entered the warehouse and litteraly jumped from the first floor to the second, and disappeared from my sight.

Jack cleared his throat. "Well, you just met Maddie." He simply said, giving me his hand so I can get up. "The beautiful blond over here is me."

"Do you have to make that joke everytime?" The blonde girl complained, failing to hide a smile.

"I'm sorry, Leena, I just couldn't resist!"

She smiled at me and shook my hand. "Sorry about Maddie's behavior, she's not socially skilled."

"Tell me about it." I mumbled.

"Don't worry, she'll come around. Let's introduce you to the rest of the group."

We entered the warehouse, and I saw a guy crouched over a pot of boiling... something.

"Oh hi," he got up and straightened his apron, "You must be the guy who pissed off Maddie, I'm Oliver."

"And you don't need to know my name, cause obviously I will be known as the guy who pissed off Maddie." I groaned, shaking his hand.

Oliver laughed while Jack went and pit his arm around his waist.

"Oli, this is Luke. Luke, this is my guy and I'm known to be a tad protective." Jack warned, and then kissed him.

"A tad?" Leena teased.

Jack scoffed. "Just go away and introduce!"

Wow. I never saw Jack as a gay person. Too many surprises for one day.

"What?" Leena asked gently.

"Umm..." I didn't know what to say. What if she was gay?

"Don't worry, they're the only gay couple here," she chuckled. Then she lowered her voice and said: "Look if you have a problem with it, don't-"

"Oh no no no! Umm, no! It's just that I wasn't expecting it. I'm just surprised, that's all!"

She laughed, but I knew better than to continue my weirdness parade, so I shut up and continued my tour.

We arrived to the far left corner of the warehouse, and I noticed some kind of lever-thing on the floor.

"Would you help me with that, please?" Leena asked.

We pulled on the lever, and a small piece on the floor opened up.

No way, I thought.

There was a stair, leading to a lower floor. When I got down there, two guys were there staring at a computer, surrounded by cables that went from everywhere to everywhere.

"Boys, say hello to Luke." Leena demanded.

Both of them turned around. One was asian, long black hair in a ponytail with pale skin and tight grey eyes. He was tall and in good shape. But the muscle man of the house was the other one. Brown skin, dark eyes, bald and really muscular, I couldn't help but stare at his figure. Guess we figured out who made the gym.

"Hey, my name is Roy" said the asian guy.

"And I'm Robert, but since that was my great great grandfather's name, I beg you to call me Rob"

I chuckled. "You got it, Rob. And nice to meet you too Roy."

"And as I told you, they are not a couple, even though their names match." Leena instructed. "We are." She continued, giving a small kiss to Rob.

Well, I thought, that leaves me the asian guy and the charging bitch. And that's a no to both.

Turns out the second floor is for sleeping. It was filled with matresses and pillows and stuff, and the gang gave me my own sleeping material.

By the time I met them all, it was already dark, and everyone, including me, was getting tired.

Laying on my matress, I thought about how nice all of this was. But also how different.

I don't know why I felt guilty when I took one of the pills I took from the hospital. The sour taste reached into my brain, making all the problems and worrying disappear. For once I found a good purpose for those pills.

Nobody was following us anymore. I was alone with the fox. He was still bleeding. I tried to help him, but I was stuck again, unable to move or speak.
The fox looked at me and said: "Stop!"
