Do I wake someone and tell them or not? Of course I do!
I ran as fast as I coud to the warehouse where everybody was supposed to be asleep. I wanted to wake them all up and... well... celebrate. That's until I saw a shadow on the roof.
I didn't know we could access the roof.
With a lot of effort (and a lot of bruises) I managed to get on the roof, just to find Maddie laying down, looking up at the stars.
"What's the big news?" She asked.
"Okay, you seriously have to stay away from my mind."
"What? Come on! It's fun, I can make fun of you way easier."
"Well, you wont, because I, the drug addict, me, Luke Anderson, the-"
"Get to the point!"
"I just did an energy ball!"
She looked at me rather surprised, then smiled and said "Congratulations."
"Okay seriously? That's it?"
"What do you want me to do? Open up a bottle of champagne?"
After I thought about it, I didn't know what I wanted her to do.
"So what are you doing here anyways?" I asked after an awkward silence.
"Why? Why are you so-"
"I know almost everyone except you! Rob ran away from his parents, Leena helped Roy got out of drug problems, Oli and Jack were rejected by their own parents for being... well who they are. And then there is you."
"What about me?" Maddie was still staring at the sky.
"Exactly. What about you? You always come up here?"
I waited a moment. I knew the hard way not to rush Maddie.
"Guess I owe you something about me."
She sat up and motioned me to get close to her. "I always get into your mind, well, welcome to mine."
She said that as she put her hands on my head, just like last time.
Welcome, Luke Anderson, to the past me. That's a 7 year old me over there trying to find something to eat from that special dumpster. That's where McDonalds used to throw their garbage. It was like a jackpot. Of course, I would sometimes get beaten over it by the older kids.
That is until I knew about my powers. I'd take some food, play with the cashier's mind, make them think that I payed them and leave.
When I was 14, I started to get curious about my parents. Why they left me on the street. Some guys told me they could get the job done. Look at me over there hanging out with them.
Little did I know they would bring me trouble. Don't get me wrong, they did the job. Very well. Turns out my parents both died trying to defend me from 'Hakem'. I respected them ever since. I was proud to be their daughter.
Now back to the boys. They wanted me to pay them, but I didn't have anything. So they did the natural thing to a lonely girl. They raped me. One would grab my breast, the other would get his hand down my pants, they would sometimes fight over me. They made me do stuff too, like suck their cocks... My powers wouldn't work on them. Those dicks turned out to be casters. When they were done with me, the would drug me, until I was able to barely fight them, they would rape me again, because it was 'more fun'.
My spirit finally apeared. Hey! Don't be a pussy and turn your head back here! It's okay, she is only ripping their heads off. They deserve it.
But it drained me. So much effort. It drained me hard. So, other guys came along and raped me again. Tearing my clothes off, grabbing my nipples, ordering me to suck their cocks... well you know the drill. I was too tired to use my powers, much less summon my spirit.
Thank God, Rob found me when he was going out to get some food for the warehouse. I thought he was also gonna rape me. He sheltered me instead."And that's my story. That's why I go up here. When those guys did to me what they did, I was always facing downwards. But now, I get the freedom to look up, look at the stars, feel the sky in my every tiny part."
"Wow." I weakly said.
She looked at me, and for the first time, I saw weakness in her eyes. I saw tears.
"That's why I was mean to you when you first got here. I still think of you, newcomers, males, whatever as bullies. I will never be a normal-"
"Hey," I calmed her down. "No one likes normal. Everyone has their shit to deal with in life. You deal with it by being... mean. But remember, when the world lends you a hand, drop the bullshit attitude and take it."
She didn't need a reminder that she was the one who told me those exact words. She was right then, and she was right now.
Then, she did something that surprised me. She got her face so close to mine, our lips grazed each other. We looked at each other, nothing but the sound of our breathing and the crickets in the woods making noises. Her eyes were backing away from me.
Crap. I wanted more. Well, I will get more.
I got closer, and everything around us disappeared, didn't matter anymore.
Our own bodies were connecting in ways I could only dream of. Our lips were becoming one with each other, our tongues wrestled inside our mouthes, her hair felt like silk in my hands, and the warmth in her body filled me up with sweet extasy.
When we backed away from each other, she said: "Wow."
"Bad kisser, I know." I sarcastically replied. Yeah, sorry, I don't know what to do in these kinds of situations.
Thank goodness she laughed, gave me another small kiss, and went downstairs, leaving me with my messed up mind (in a good way of course), and the stalker I had no idea was watching us down at the woods.
