Chapter one
New school

I woke up to my brother Jace shaking me awake. "Arianna, wake up." He says. I groan and turn my body around.

"Ari, you gotta wake up before dad gets up." He says. I jolt awake at the mention of our father.

"Thanks Jace." I say and look over at the clock and see its 7:40.
"Oh my God, shit it's 7:40, I need you to go make breakfast while I shower." I say.

Jace nods in understanding. "Okay but hurry, you wanna get downstairs before he's up." Jace says. "okay thanks." I say.

After he leaves I hurry grab my clothes and get in the shower. I hurried up and got done in 10 minutes. I wanted to get done before my dad woke up.

my father Marcus, was abusive. he'd started abusing us when he'd developed a drinking problem. I remember him coming home around midnight and my mom and him whould get in a fight.

He whould beat her and he whould yell at me and my brother for everything. We whould be constantly moving when people noticed the bruises.

A few years later my mom finally got sick of the abusiveness and left him. I was thirteen then and my Jace was fourteen.

Today I'm officially seventeen​. That  means today I'm gonna finally meet my mate. That is if he doesn't reject me. I hope he doesn't, it wouldn't surprise me thoughe, I'm weak for a werewolf.

I was supposed to experience my first shift when I was thirteen but didn't get one until I was fifteen. On the other hand, my brother got his first shift a few months before he was thirteen.

Once I come downstairs I'm wearing black leggings and a long pink sweat shirt that says 17 on the back in black numbers.

My brother got it for me since today's my 17th birthday. I have some black eyeliner and cover up so no one can see my bruises.

My dad comes downstairs. "Ugh, bitch what are you still doing here, your gonna be late for school." He says to me.

"Sorry father, me and Jace were just leaving" I say back to him in a quiet voice. I quickly grab my bag and go out to the car.

Jace gives me a ride to school since Jace is in 12th grade, and I'm in 11th.  He gives me rides to school when he's leaving late and we sit at lunch together.

On the way to school, I think 'great' we just moved last week, so we're starting at a new school. My father Marcus, never let's me and my brother have friends.

He doesn't want anything to slip out or for any one to notice our bruises. Once we arrive at school I smell this amazing smell like pine cones and something muscular.

And my wolf Aria, starts going crazy and I just know that it's my mate, I just hope he doesn't reject me.
