By the time you're done, it's 2 AM. You have to be somewhere at 2 PM, so you put your phone down on the charger. You settle into bed and drift off easily.
-time skip-
You wake up and it's 12 PM. You have 2 hours until your date with Dan. You have 2 messages. The one from Lauren you ignored and one from Dan.
Dan Howell 🤔 - hi can we change the time to 1:30 something came up for 3 and I want more time w/ u
You - yea of course I just got up lol
You head to your bathroom and plug your curling iron, and brush your hair. Since you picked out the outfit for today yesterday, you don't need to go through that again. As you brush your hair, your curling iron beeps, so that it alerts you it's ready.
You curl your hair into beach waves. You put on some nude pink lipstick and lip liner. Finishing the look with eyeliner with a perfect wing and fake eyelashes.
You head back to your room and change into your clothes. You think that you look really good. (I agree)
-time skip to 1:20-
There's 10 minutes until Dan picks you up. You squirt some hairspray into your hair and sit down on the couch nearby to the door. You check the peep hole, just in case he's coming up. You start to pace. You're really nervous. You've never really had a boyfriend, or gone on a date. Not that he's your boyfriend, or ever will be. Maybe he will? These thoughts are racing through your mind. You sit back down to try to calm your nerves.
-time skip to 1:30-
On the dot of 1:30, there's a knock on the door. You check the peep hole. It's Dan. You open the door and he smirks at you.
"Hey Anastasia, you ready to go?" he asks.
"Yup let me just grab my purse and such," you respond. You grab your purse and slip your keys and phone into the purse. You speed walk over.
"You look nice, not that you don't always look nice, I mean-" he starts.
"Thanks," you interrupt. You smile and walk out your door. Dan shuts your door. After that, you follow Dan. He walks down the steep stairs- ugh - and you follow. You exit, supposing you're going to walk. These shoes are not meant for walking long distances, sigh.
Your phone buzzes, and it's a text. The number isn't in your contacts.
Unknown number - Congratulations, Anastasia. You got the job, come by anytime this week to get your shifts, and pay check schedule and what not.
You squeal because you're excited, and then Dan gives you a wtf look.
"I got a job!" you screetch. He was probably wondering.
"Where!" he practically shouts. He sounds excited.
"At a coffee shop or bake shop or something called Blues Bakery*," you respond.
"That's where we were going anyways," Dan shoots back. Almost defensive. You shrug it off, and continue to follow him, although you already know where you're going. Your hands touch for a second, sending chills up your spine.
     "We're here," you inform Dan.
"Yay!" he jumps up and down, like a little kid.
"Okay, how old are you? 4?" you ask him with a giggle.
"Actually, 4 plus 21, what about you?" he responds, and you look down for a second.
"I'm 4 plus 19. 23, if you don't like math," you look back up at him, and he enters the building.
"Hello, and Anastasia! Hey, are you here for the schedules?" the boss says.
"Yes and no, I'm here with Dan," you motion to him, "but I can pick it up now?"
"Yes, ok. If these don't fit your schedule let me know. I'll change them," your soon-to-be-boss informs you.
"Hmm," you say, looking over the schedule, "this works for me."
"Anyways, let's go," Dan motions to the desk thing, where you order.
"Ok," you agree, following him once again. You scan the menu, and decide on a medium ice french vanilla with sugar.
"Hello! Welcome to Blues Bakery! Can I take your order?" one of the bubbly workers asks Dan and you.
"Hi, yes, I'll have a Large ice mocha hold the sugar please," Dan confidently says.
"And for me, I'll have a medium ice french vanilla with 2 sugars," you look at Dan.
"That will be," the lady at the desk says, punching in numbers on the machine, "£7.99."
"Okay," Dan calmly breathes. How expensive, but this is London, even if you're rich, everything comes with a high price tag.
"Do you want your change?" The lady says, after Dan hands a £10 note** over.
"No, you keep it, thanks!" Dan says, and grabs our coffee. He walks over to a spot by the window. He sits down, and motions to a chair right across from him.
"Thanks for the coffee," you say, and then look down.
"You're welcome, I thought you'd like it better than tea because you're American. Cause the stereotypes and stuff. Like we like tea you like coffee and crisps and - I'm rambling again, sigh."
"Yes, I do like coffee.  And what are Crisps? And did you just SAY sigh?" you question.
"1, crisps are like chips? Maybe? And yes, I said sigh, is there a problem?" He chuckles.
"Not at all," you sip your coffee.
"So, what's your favourite mcr album?" He brings up MCR. You try not to get misty-eyed.
"Honestly, Danger Days. Helena is good too, and so are the others, but mcr is amazing so anything they do, it's amazing. You know?" you calmly respond, almost at a whisper tone.
"Helena is my favourite, but danger days is all right, yea. Mcr is a really good band, or an idea, if you will," he says.
"Mm, you into Twenty One Pilots?" you ask, hoping it's a yes. It'd be a deal breaker if he wasn't.
"Yea, a little. I'm not a hardcore fan though. If you are, what is a 'Phun' and why is it unintended. And what the heck does 'Kitchen Sink' mean?" he questions.
"As in No Phun Intended?" you ask, and see him nod, "It's an album. It's his album, Tyler Joseph's before twenty one pilots. It's amazing, and you should listen if you haven't already. Kitchen Sink, is a song off of Regional at Best, and it's on some other track too, but you're lucky if you get your hands on it."
"Makes sense, I guess," he says. He's already halfway done with his coffee. You take a long sip. You get brain freeze.
     "Brain fa-rEEEEze!" you say.
"Didn't know you could get that from cof- well it's ice coffee," he says, almost to himself.
