Eternally Fleeting

The rain is pouring,
Drip-drop, drip-drop,
My heart is pounding,
Bum-bomp, Bum-bomb,

Your eyes, they're staring,
Crystal blue,
My iron-clad act,
You see right through.

"Tessa" you say,
Your voice soft, stern,
I take a step back,
Though its your touch I yearn,

I take one last glance,
Then turn away,
Into the night I run,
But your hurt image will always stay,

Running, running,
My dress catches my knee,
Falling, falling,
Let me fall forever, I plead,

A forbidden love,
It is to much to bear,
I want to be near,
But consequences await me there,

The night is howling,
Screaming, growling,

My heart is crying,
Shaking, dying,

Please make it stop,
Oh dearest moon,
Let me fly away,
And do make it soon,

My knees are bleeding,
Red blossoms mixed with dirt,
But not the cuts nor the scrapes,
Can match my heart's hurt,

Suddenly, from the cold night emerges,
A hand big, and warm,
It's your hand pulling me from despair,
Despite my uncertainness and scorn,

And then with the hand,
Come warm arms that hold,
And attached to the arms,
Comes a warm chest, beating and bold.

"Tessa" to me you say,
And though I cannot see you,
I know your eyes don't waver, don't sway,

"The hills are calling, Tessa,
Hear their silent call?
This one time we can fly away,
Though surely we will someday fall."

The rain, it clears,
And through the mist I see,
A beautiful new world,
Calling for you and for me,

"Fall as we might"
I say staring at freedom,
"But should we fall,
We fall together in flight,"

You take my hand,
So dirty, so small,
And I look up at you,
So comforting and tall,

And we are off!
Running, running!
And for once, I find running,
A feeling very stunning,

The air is fresh, and wide and free,
No matter what awaits,
I have you here with me.

And fall as we certainly will,
I'm happy as long as I have you still.

Love is eternal,
If only for a second.

If you find it,
Keep it,

I only wish I did.
