Drive On, On, On

Little blue car,
Driving so far,

A Young happy man,
Young woman in hand.

With smiling young  faces,
Admits their heartbeats' races,

They drive on, on, on.

The sun smiles down,
They know not of frowns,

The girl's hair is simply braided,
The mans clothes threadbare and faded,

But yet they smile bright,
Their love- each other's light,

They drive on, on, on.

A storm, it comes near,
The danger is here,

It's too late to go back,
The rain drops fall, clippity-clack,

Clutching each other tight,
Trusting their car to fight,

They drive on, on, on.

The brutal storm rages,
It lasts for ages,

But hand and hand they stay,
Their love is strong- it does not sway.

Lighting cracks, thunder booms,
But after the storm a calmness blooms,

They drive on, on, on.

To a city they enter,
With no baggage to hinder,

They rent out a home,
With thin boards that moan,

Yet they happy are they,
That with each other they stay,

They drive on, on, on.

Work finding isn't easy,
And employers here are sleazy,

They are scammed,
They are damned,

But with  bellies so empty,
There's more room to love plenty,

They drive on, on, on.

Months pass,
Love lasts,

In the young man flew,
"Come!" He calls "I've brought great news!"

A yes, he received, for a high paying job,
The young woman cries a gleeful sob,

They drive on, on, on,

A fancy house they later redeem,
With fancy art, and a fixtures that gleam,

The young woman becomes great artist,
With every piece she tries her hardest,

Busier are they now,
But they squeeze in love somehow,

The drive on, on, on.

Now in world where everything gleams,
Their love is secondary, slowly losing steam,

The more money they earn,
The less their hearts yearn,

At this rate, their precious blue car,
Shalt drive very far,

Unsteadily, they drive on, on, on.

Apart they tear,
They yell, they swear,

They could make it on their own,
After all, the house is no longer home,

With pockets full of cash,
And bright belonging that flash,

Together they drive on no more.
