Chapter one - 3 years earlier

"Oh my god," My best friend, Amelia, gasped, "I forgot to get my English book from my locker. Don't wait for me, I'll meet you there!" Watching her retreating back, I was thoroughly confused. I could have sworn I saw her take that book out. Unless it was another book. Although I can't think of another book she would take out considering it's last lesson.

Shrugging, I stood outside of the classroom. It would be embarrassing having to walk in that room by myself. Everyone know's that me, Amelia and our other best friend, Emma are inseparable. If they ever see us around, but not together, then they automatically assume that something is up. Nothing has ever happened between us though, not since we were in second grade, when all three of us met. It's quite odd when you think about it, that we all came to the same school around the same time. I guess we were just made to be best friends forever.

Beginning to worry, I glanced down the hall that Amelia had walked through, wondering where she is. Surely it can't take this long just to get a stupid book. And her locker isn't even that far away! Frowning, I peeked my head through the door. Spotting the desk I was looking for, my frown turned even deeper. Brendan's desk was empty.

Brendan is my boyfriend. We've been dating since eighth grade. Considering we're now sophomores, that is a long time. We were each other's first time, too. And we have only broken up once, but we got back together the next day because we missed each other. Ironic, isn't it? Plus, Brendan turned out to be one of the most popular guys in school. He's the star quarterback of the football team. Me, Amelia, Emma and our other friends, Jake, Paul and Vince always get invited to the popular table at lunch, but we always say no. That crowd is just not for us.

Sighing, I looked at the desk next to Brendan's, which was usually taken up by his best friend, Josh. He's not only Brendan's best friend, but he's also a really close friend of mine too, even before I started seeing Brendan in the first place. Flashing him a smile, I walked over to him. Luckily the teacher for this lesson always turn's up halfway through, otherwise Amelia would be in big trouble right now.

Waving, I said, "Hey Josh," He smiled at me, "You haven't seen Brendan have you?" Josh is one of those extremely good looking guys. He practically make's you have an orgasm every time he smiles. God, having teeth and lips like that has got to be illegal! And his blonde, messy hair always make's me wonder what it would feel like running my hand's through it. But, of course, whenever I have these thought's, I automatically stop myself because of my boyfriend. Speaking of Brendan...

"Hi Ella ," He smiled even wider, he has to stop doing that, "Last time I seen Brendan he was off to his locker to get some books. That's all I know anyways. Where's Lia?" Everybody just call's Amelia Lia, as it's easier to say.

I shrugged, "She went to her locker as well, but that was ages ago," Maybe Lia and Brendan bumped into each other and are walking really slowly over here. Not that I mind though, I trust both of them with all of my heart. After all, Lia's one of my best friends, and Brendan's my boyfriend, and relationships are built on trust, right?

But then again, it's almost halfway through the lesson. The teacher could walk through this door any minute. I'm not going to let my best friend and my boyfriend get detention.

"Sir will be here soon," I said, biting my lip, "Do you think we should go and get them? We don't want them to be late and get detentions. Think about what would happen if Brendan missed football practice, and Lia missed cheer-leading practice?" Yes, I know, cliche for her to be on the cheer-leading squad. And for her to also be the vice head cheerleader. I'm not into that stuff though. Don't get me wrong, I'm into dancing, but that's why I'm on the dance team. Me and Emma are on it together, along with some other guys and girls.
