Chapter four

"Alright students. Time's up!" Sighing with relief, I stood up with my paper and handed it to the examiner at the front. To be honest, I don't think I did very well. Getting no sleep at all isn't very good if you have an exam the next morning.

Yes. You heard me right. I got no sleep what so ever last night. Well, apart from about half an hour when I first went to bed. But then Em came to bed, and Jake decided to try and get in a little action before she fell asleep. I say tried, because Em pushed him away and shut the door in his face. If I was fully awake I would have opened the door, laughed at him, said 'Haha, you just got rejected' and then go back to bed.

Unfortunatley, that was what woke me up. Afterwards, I couldn't get back to sleep. It didn't help that Emma began dreaming of pickles and biscuits. She kept murmuring in her sleep, 'No, I'm sorry Mr Pickles, please don't feed me to the biscuits'. She is one weird child, I tell you.

Rubbing my eyes, I walked across campus and over to our apartment block. I was half way when I spotted a very comfy looking bench. Well, it won't hurt to just rest my eyes for a couple of minutes, would it? I mean, it's not like anyone would mind. Actually, I would mind if someone took a photo and uploaded it to Face book. But then again, I would attack them like the poor broomstick and pillow learnt last night.

Shrugging, I made my way over to the bench anyways, "Aah," I breathed, and leaned my head back, closing my eyes. Surprisingly, the bench is even more comfy than it looks. Even if I do look like a complete idiot, I am considering switching this for my bed.

Feeling the breeze on my face, I felt relaxed. Finally, I can just sit for a while and have no worries in the world. That is, of course, if no-one decides to join me.

"You are one of the weirdest girl's I know," My eyes shot open and my head turned toward the voice. There, sitting in all his glory, was the one and only, Vince, "What? You didn't know I was here?" I could hear the amusement in his voice.

"Obviously not. I don't have eyes on the side of my head," I retorted.

He chuckled, "You were in your own little world. You wouldn't have noticed me anyway."

"Oh shut up."

"It's true!"

Narrowing my eyes at him, I kicked him gently. Then, I swivelled myself around so my back was leaning against the arm rest, and my legs were lying across Vince's lap. Now if only I could get a pillow, a duvet, some ear phones and an eye mask, I could easily fall asleep here.

"Quite comfortable there, Iz?" Even though I couldn't see him, I could tell he was smirking.

"Very," I replied, tired, "What are you doing here anyway?"

Vince shrugged, "I was just coming back from one of my classes. Speaking of classes, how do you think you did in your exam?"

Well that was an odd question. Vince is hardly ever interested in how well I'm doing.

"Could have done better. My lack of sleep had something to do with it."

"I didn't get much sleep either," I raised my eyebrows. What could have kept him awake?

"Why not?"

"I don't know if you heard, but Emma was having some weird dreams last night. Loud one's too."

I chuckled, and sat up, watching Vince, "The pickles and the biscuits?"

In a high pitched voice, Vince said, "No, I'm sorry Mr Pickles, please don't feed me to the biscuits!" I burst out laughing stupidly, as Vince joined in as well. Guess Em isn't exactly sleeping beauty.
