Ben's POV:
My name is Ben. I have lived behind these walls all my life. I have been trapped here ever since I was a baby. I swear this place is a prison for children. High walls, security cameras, locked doors yeah this is definitely a child prison.
Hardly any child leaves, occasionally one lucky child is escorted out beyond these walls. We never see them again afterwards. We all have rumours that happens to the lucky ones such as 'eaten by aliens' or 'thrown in a pool of lava'. The others like to make it a competition, the most creative wins extra pudding at dinner that night. As you can tell everyone likes extra pudding so they all try to be really creative.
Not a day goes by where I wonder what it would be like to live outside these walls. I can only dream. It's a shame all my dreams become a shattered fantasy kept together with staples and thin thread. One day I dream that I will meet someone who actually want to be my friend. I have to stop trying to live in a fantasy world. No one will ever want to befriend me. I'm way too weird plus people get grossed out by my ears and height.
It's not my fault I'm short, I would try being stretched out but that would hurt. I don't care if i'm short. Okay now I am lying I hate being short it makes me feel like a out cast. All the other children avoid me, this meant I never really had to talk to anyone. The other children picked up on this and would call me names such as 'silent shadow'. I bet if I asked them what my name was, they wouldn't remember. No one ever does. Silent shadow was my name now, there was no point fighting it after the name has been stuck for years.
I sighed and sat on my bed and looked out my window to watch the trees dance slowly in the wind. It was almost hypnotic. The wind howled softly through my window panes sending me into a peaceful slumber. As my eyes closed I felt my head hit the pillow. Darkness filled the room and I was off to the land of bliss and tranquillity. I was lucky enough to have my own room, this ment my dream land fantasies were never interrupted.
