Trigger warnings: Self Harm Mentioned, And Abuse

Mark's POV

The amount of joy I had inside of me when I heard him agree to being my boyfriend. I asked myself is this real?

Once I felt his lips pressed on mine again, I knew the answer to that question.

Yes. This is real. Jack is my boyfriend. When we pulled back, I had a grin plastered on my face, "Come on," I said, standing up. I held onto his hands, and went to pull him up. He groaned.

"I don't wanna get up," he whined.

"Come onnn," i said, still attempting to pull him up.

"What do you even want to do?" He said, looking up at me, but still staying down.

"I don't know! I just feel like moving around! I'm really happy right now!"

Jack chuckled in response, standing up in front of me. He took his hands away from mine and wrapped his arms around my neck, leaning on me.

"I like you," he said, leaning his forehead on mine.

"Perhaps I like you will be our always," I said, grinning before I started busting out laughing.

"Oh my god, you fucking nerd," Jack said, pulling away from me. He tried to be serious, but he started laughing as well. I only put my hands on his waist and pulled him towards me. His arms went back around my neck. I quickly leaned in and pecked his lips.

"Come on, let's go do something!" I said excitedly. I felt like a young child opening presents on Christmas morning.

"Well what do you want to do?" He smiled at me, I felt myself calm down a little, and thought for a second.

"I dunno, what do you want to do babe?" I asked with a smirk. His cheeks tinted red, and he looked away.

"Well we can't stay out for too long! Both of us will get in big trouble," He said, causing me to frown.

"Well then let's make the best of our time," I said, grabbing his hand and pulling him away from the spot. To a wooded areas behind the park.

"Mark! Where are we going?" He said, I was basically dragging him behind.

"To the woods!"

Before I knew it, Jack stopped and pulled me back. Almost causing me to lose my footing.

"What's wrong?" I asked, looking at him.

"We don't have that much time, Mark," he chuckled lightly, moving to put his arms around my neck again, "Let's just stay here, okay?"

"But, I'm so happy right now Jack! I feel like I need to run around and do something!" I said, still excited. He laughed at me.

"We can do that tomorrow, it's better to be safe than sorry," he said with a small sigh, leaning in to kiss my nose. I stuck out my bottom lip, pouting. He only laughed and leaned in to peck me on the lips, "I'm really happy too though. Don't think I'm not!" He said, a huge grin plastered on his face.

I couldn't stop smiling, everything is so...perfect right now!

I leaned in and kissed him, both of our eyes closing. Our lips moved together in sync. It was passionate, and sweet.

I'm falling, and I'm falling hard for this boy.

When we pulled away, we pressed our forehead together, "I can't believe this is real," I whispered, softly.

"You and me both," Jack said, pulling back completely. He moved to grab my hands, pulling me to sit down on the grass.

We talked, we laughed, and soon there was silence. A comfortable silence. He ended up putting his head in my lap. I messed with his green hair, smiling softly at him. I stared into his eyes, getting lost again.

"You're so... Beautiful," I said quietly, humming softly.

"Ugh, Maaaark," he groaned hiding his face, "You're such a liar. "

I frowned, "I never lie," I grabbed his hands and pulled them away from his face, "You are the most beautiful human being out there, and I'll make sure you believe it one day." His happy face turned serious, and I felt like I messed up.

"I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll ever be able to believe that," he said with a sigh before sitting up. I instantly had my arms around him and pulled him close to me.

"You'll believe it one day," I kissed the top of his head. He lifted his head up to look at me, and pecked my lips.

"Thank you," he said, humming softly.

I didn't say anything. We sat there in silence.

Time flew by fast, and unfortunately it was starting to get dark. I knew this means we'd need to part ways.

I hated this. I hated knowing id have to say goodbye to Jack for a night.

I'm not a clingy boyfriend, no. I'm going to avoid that. But I hate parting our ways knowing that he's going to go home with that dickbag of a father. I won't be able to protect him and unfortunately I can't stay the night with him. I know myself would get in trouble.

"We have to go..." I heard his quiet voice. I sighed, we both stood up and looked at each other.

"Let's go then," I said, holding my hand out. He gladly accepted, intertwining our fingers. We didn't talk. Like, at all.

When we got to the front of our houses, I looked at him. He was quick to wrap his arms around me, hugging me tightly.

"I'll see you tomorrow, bright and early for school. Alright?"

He nodded, and after we pulled apart, I leaned down and kissed him on the lips. Only for a second.

"I like you. "

"I like you too," and with that. We pulled away, "Text me if you need me!" I yelled, he nodded. I heard his door close. I took a deep breath, and opened the door to my house, walking inside and closing it behind me.

Happiness always has to come to an end.

"Mark?" Her voice slurred, "What the hell??" She said stumbling towards me. She reeked of alcohol, her hand met with my cheek with a loud slap, "How can you even be my son?"

I don't know what I did wrong.

"You fucking disgrace!"

What did I do?

Any happiness that I had disappeared.

"I wish you'd just go fucking die! I don't even want you anymore!"

I'm sorry.

She grabbed my arm, ripping up my arm sleeve.

"You're still fucking doing this?" She slapped my arm, the fresh wounds, "Go cut yourself some more you selfish prick!"

Yes mother.

She pushed me away, and I walked to my bathroom. Grabbing a razor.

Mother knows best.
