~Rachel's POV~
Ross and I had walked out of the lobby, Sav and her date in front of us. I saw Andrew open the door to a limousine and looked over at Ross with a wide smile set on my face. He smiled back and nodded, confirming that this was our ride for the night. I squealed with excitement as Ross opened the door and gestured for me to get inside. He had an excited grin as well.
I made my way over and looked behind at Ross. His eyes quickly darted up from their previous spot, which I'm guessing was my back end. I smiled at him and got in, Ross quickly following. His cheeks were pink and I could tell he felt very awkward.
"Sorry about that, it's just you were looking so beautiful and... I mean you are looking so beautiful and I don't want you to think Im a pervert and I... I don't know I guess I just--"
"Ross. It was cute. I'm very flattered, really," I cut off Ross's rambling and he smiled slightly. It was obvious that he was extremely embarrassed and he didn't want me to think any less of him. It was only the second date after all. If you don't count Starbucks.
"Anyway.. Thank you for all of this. I'm very glad I met you," I said softly. I noticed him relax immensely.
"I'm glad I met you too, Primrose."
I laughed louder than I meant to, causing me to cover my mouth. Ross laughed along though, much to my relief. Ugh, his laugh.
"We're almost there but... Could I hold your hand?" He suddenly whispered. I laughed softly and nodded putting my hand in his.
"Wow, I really like you," I could hear him whisper. I'm not sure if he wanted me to hear that or not, so I just smiled to myself.
We pulled up to a really expensive restaurant where Andrew and Sav got out. Ross didn't budge though.
"Ross, you didn't tell me we were doing separate dates!" I exclaimed as we drove away. I'm not going to lie, I was super excited.
"Surprise!!!" He did jazz hands, but jiggled my arm along with it because he didn't want to let go of my hand. I laughed at him and he dropped his hands (and mine), smiling awkwardly. He still didn't let go though.
The car suddenly stopped. I couldn't tell where we were, it was dark. I hadn't even noticed that we had gone away from the city. We both got out and Ross smiled at me anxiously.
"Um.. You're going to need to close your eyes."  He got behind me and covered my eyes with his hands before he realized that we wouldn't be able to get to his secret destination without us shuffling slowly the entire way. So he stepped in front of me and extended his hand for me to grab instead.
"Okay now close your eyes. I'm trusting you not to peek, Rachel! No peeking!" Ross guided me slowly to the surprise, telling me to be careful and to dodge branches at certain points of the trip.
"You can open them now!" I could hear the excitement in his voice and I opened my eyes, taking in the extra cliche scene before me.
He had somehow managed to find a spot where all you could hear was a small, quiet buzz of cars driving by. He had a candle lit dinner under the stars and there were fairy lights strung on nearby trees. You could tell he had watched way too many romantic movies.
"Aw, this is so cliche! You're such a dork!" I said with a giggle.
Ross's face was set into a pout. "I thought it was romantic."
"It is, I love it! It's just... Isn't it kinda funny that we're wearing incredibly fancy clothes to a picnic?" I laughed and his eyes went wide.
"I'm sorry, I didn't even think about that... We could go somewhere else if you want... I just thought that if--"
"Ross, it's perfect. This is really sweet, thank you." Ross seemed to relax at that and he stood there awkwardly for a few seconds before finally sitting on the picnic blanket. I followed.
I noticed what was on our plates. He had salmon scramble with some homemade pasta and some salad. I smiled to myself, his home cooked meal was adorable.
"I made it myself. I hope it's okay, it's not anything fancy or anything. And I have water, no wine because I'm still too young to purchase that sort of thing. I really wanted nesquik, but sadly, I'm not sure that goes great with pasta and salad..." Ross explained. I laughed at his adorableness.
We joked and laughed and acted like little kids the rest of the night, and Ross's food was really good. I was very impressed. The salmon was slightly burnt, but I pretended not to notice.
I didn't want the night to come to an end.
I really like him.
