Nicknames

We've been on the search of werewolves to turn into hybrids all summer. Stefan and Nik are getting along some what decently and I've grown to like ripper Stefan. Right now we are all in Niks truck on our way to Tennessee. I'm in between both boys with my head on Niks shoulder listening to the music playing on the radio with my eyes closed. I feel someone poke my cheek and open my eyes to see Nik with amusement written across his face. I raise an eyebrow to him and listen as he explains. "You were singing sunshine. You've got a beautiful voice by the way". I shoved his shoulder as I said "Nik I've already told you I don't like that nickname yet you still use it so from now until you change it I will ignore you". He looked slightly hurt but also confused until he remembered when I told him right before he daggered Elijah. Now you see that would have bothered me if he hadn't tried to kill Nik just two days before. He nodded his head and said "Okay then Nina what would you suggest. Maybe I could call you The Big Bad Tribrid since I'm The Big Bad Hybrid or maybe lily since that's your favorite flower". I smiled as I kissed his cheek and answered "that sounds wonderful Nik but I like lily better". He nodded as I put my head back on his shoulder and drifted off to sleep.

***Stefans P.O.V***
I was looking out of the window when I heard a voice singing that sounded like honey. I looked over to see it was Nina. I watched her sing for a few minutes until Klaus or Nik as she called him poked her cheek. Her eyes opened and I was suprised to find myself getting lost in them. She looked at Klaus with a raised eyebrow which I have learnt is code for the other one to explain what they are doing or talking about. He looks at her in amusement but explains anyways "you were singing sunshine. You've got a beautiful voice by the way". Even though I had to agree with him I was still confused. They started a conversation while I got lost in my thoughts. Their relationship is odd they say they're best friends but there is something else there to I'm just not sure what. I don't think they like each other in the way where they could ever date but you can see how much they love each other too. They could have a brother sister relationship since they say they are family but again it's more than that too. They know each other perfectly no secretes no lies. They trust each other and would give their own life to protect the other. They respect the others choices even if they are bad and listen to the others opinions. You can see that she brings out Klaus 's humanity even though he claims not to have any and how much they care for each other and without realizing it Klaus has even shown that he has weaknesses. I then think about their nicknames for each other. Hers is simply the shortened version of his name but his are things like love, sweetheart, sunshine and always seem to have deeper meanings.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts by Klaus saying something. "Goodnight Lily. See you when you wake. I love you. Always and forever". I can't help but smile when I notice that Nina or honey as I'm going to call her from now on had fallen asleep on Klaus 's shoulder. I brush a strand of hair from her face and look up to see Klaus staring at me with amusement, worry, and warning playing on his features. He then says something I wasn't expecting at all. "Seems like someone has fallen for Ninas charms but I want you to know that if you even think about touching her not only will I put a stake through you heart but so will the rest of my family when they are undaggered and get their memories of her back". He mumbled the last words not wanting me to hear them but I did anyways. I was even more confused by this but didn't let it show. We both hear honey mutter something in her sleep and Klaus pulls over. She reaches for my hand and mumbles something else as a look of recognition passes over Klaus 's face and confusion over mine. He signals for me to follow his lead and places a hand on her cheek. I do the same and before I know it I'm in her head. I was standing in front of a family all having dinner. They wore cloths that looked like they were from centuries ago. I look over the family and recognize two people. Klaus and Nina. She was sitting in between him and another boy the way she was between me and Klaus in the car. She has her head rested on the boy I don't recognizes shoulder and is holding Klaus 's hand. She lifts her head and looks at the boy as she says "I'm board Kol can we play a game?". He nods and they look around the room together to see everyone else nodding in agreement as well. She nods her head to the boy now known as Kol and he nods back giving the okay to whatever it is that she asked. She pulls her hand away from Klaus who pouts as she begins to explain the game. "Okay well me and Kol came up with this game. We were going to save it for tomorrow but since my parents will be back we're going to teach you guys tonight. First we all chose a number and that's how we decide who goes first. The one with the highest number gets to go first. You have to ask someone a question and they have to answer with complete honesty. Once they answer they get to ask a question and it continues from there. Since non of you have played before I'll go first and ask Kol a question so you can see how it works". Just as she was about to ask the question I was pulled out of her head. I opened my eyes to see Klaus looking at her worried and her awake with fiery rage in her eyes. When she looks at Klaus it fades away and she raises an eyebrow to him. He relaxes and begins to explain. "You were talking in your sleep then grabbed Stefans hand. I remembered how you would lay your head on Kols shoulder and hold my hand while having dinner with us and entered your head to see if that's what you were mumbling on about. Turns out I was right and as for Stefan he was confused and I figured what was the harm with letting him see one of your memories from our time as humans". She smiled and rested her head on Klaus 's shoulder before falling back to sleep.

While she slept I looked over at Klaus who had started driving again with a question on my mind. He looked over to me with a look that said well spit it out. "Who were those people"? He looked confused for a moment then nodded his head as if answering something to himself before he answered "they are our family". I don't even have time to react before everything turns black. I know that Nina snapped my neck because just before the black I heard a snap and saw red hair.
