Sleep

I look around but I still only see darkness. I can feel lily next to me but when I try to look over at her there's nothing there but more black. I can hear faint chanting and then a voice. "It's okay Nik open your eyes". I do open my eyes and this time instead of darkness I see a building infront of us. "How did we get here lily"? She smiles and places a hand on my cheek. It's odd but I start to see what happened.

Lily had woken up when I moved my hand from her head. She grabbed my hand and wispered making me think she was still asleep but when I was wispering back to her she saw the head lights of another car coming into view. At the last minute she used her magic to transport me, her, and the other driver out of the cars. Me and the other driver were knocked unconscious because of the magic but she woke me up with a spell. The other driver is in one of the rooms still asleep.

Lily pulled her hand from my cheek and I looked at her amazed. I knew she had magic and was part witch but I never knew she was so powerful. Now that I think more about it there are things I don't know about her but I know that's because the spirits of the dead witches prevented it not because she wanted to keep it from me. She gave me a sad smile knowing what I was thinking about and hugged me before she pulled away she wispered "I'm sorry that I can't tell you everything and I wish I could but we both know I can't. Now let's get a move on and compelle this man before he starts freaking out on us". I smiled and she pulled me into one of the rooms.

She set on the bed and placed two fingers onto the man's temples. She chanted for about ten seconds then wispered "wake" into the man's ear. He gasped for breath than opened his eyes. She helped him sit up then started compelling him. "You had a few to many drinks and called a cab. It brought you here where you got a room and slept it off. When you wake up in the morning you'll have a hangover. Take some Tylenol with a glass of water and eat a chesseburger. You won't go to get your car you'll call someone to come pick you up. When they ask what happened you'll tell them you black last night out being to drunk to remember anything". He repeated what she said then passed out. She got up and pulled me out of the room with her.

We went back to the car crash. She used her magic to clean everything up and make it look like nothing happened. She called a rental car service and had them bring us a car. It didn't take long for them to arrive. The car was black and not very large but we still had plenty of room. We climbed into the car and continued on our trip with Nina driving since she said that after the spell I'd need sleep. She was right within seconds of me sitting down and her saying goodnight I was asleep.

***Ninas P.O.V***
I told Nik to get some sleep as I started to drive. I looked over at him when I noticed that he kept shifting in his sleep. Like he did to me I pulled over and placed my hand on his head. You see the only reason we can get inside of each others heads so easily is because we'd given each other permission and would never keep anything from each other.

Inside Niks head I watched as he tried to kill himself multiple times. I watched as he was drove mad by the spirits of the hunters he had killed. You maybe wondering what I'm talking about and it's simple people who hunt vampires. Right now he was screaming at nothing. He grabs a nearby stake and drove it through his own heart. I couldn't watch anymore and pulled my hand away from his head. I brushed his hair back with my hand and focused on my favorite memory of him. As it started to play in my head I put it in his.

The memory was of a stormy night on Niks seventh birthday. I had turned seven just three days before and it was driving him crazy. We convinced our parents, which only required asking once, to let me stay at the Mikaelsons house to celebrate with Nik. Right now we were sat in his room laying on the ground with our feet up on the wall. I was holding his hand with my head resting on my other arm. Nik was in the same position as I was holding my hand and laying his head on his free arm. There was a comfortable silence as we did nothing but stare up at the ceiling our fingers interlocked together. We stayed that way for a while before Nik broke the silence by saying "Thanks for staying the night with me to celebrate my birthday Nina it means a lot. I love you. You will always be a sister to me even though we aren't related by blood". I smiled and turned my head so I could look at him. "You're welcome. I love you too Nik and you will always be my best friend and brother". He kissed my forehead and we went back to staring at the ceiling in a comfortable silence.

I pulled my hand away as more of our favorite memories played in his mind. I started the car and pulled back onto the road. I drove for a while before I started to get tired again. I pulled over and woke Nik up by poking his cheek. He groaned but opened his eyes anyway. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow but all I could do was yawn. He chuckled before he got out of the car, walked around, opened my door, picked me up, placed me in the backseat, and started driving. I was finally able to get a coherent sentence out without yawning and said "goodnight Nik. I love you". He smiled and replied by saying "Goodnight Lily I love you too". A few seconds later I fell asleep. It was the longest I had slept since Nik came and picked me up to go to Mystic Falls. I dreamt of the time me and Nik were in our wolf forms and wondered when we would be in those forms again.
