The end of the week was coming although it sure was taking its damn time, this week was all the same all of it I don't even need a schedule to remember it was all the same.
Monday: Breakfast: scrambled eggs, baked beans on toast, Test: Doctors check to see if I lost anything overnight, Sleep, Lunch: mashed potatoes, a slice of bread, cup of jelly ( The only treat I get). Visiting hours, Dinner: Mashed potatoes, tinned peas, gravy, chicken, more sleep.
Every other day was the same as the one before that every day was the exact same boring day as the last but not today something was different about today when I got given breakfast it wasn't the usual scrambled eggs and baked beans on toast today it was pancakes with sticky syrup on top and a blob of ice-cream in the middle I didn't realise how hungry I was before I started eating but when I did it was like an explosion of flavour inside my mouth all the different flavours of the pancakes, syrup and ice-cream combined. Once I finished and the food was taken away from me the doctors let me get changed out of the hospital gown I was wearing then the took
me for a walk.
I had absolutely no idea there was a beach right outside the hospital with beautiful blue waves crashing down on to the shining yellow sand nobody else was their just me and my main doctor. When we finally got walking with the sand squelching under our bare feet my doctor, Brooke spoke up " Do you know or can you remember if there is a reason why you had a different breakfast this morning and why you get to go for a walk on the beach?". I thought long and hard trying to grasp on to hold memories before they fade away but it was no use I sighed and spoke " I tried but I really have no idea why am I going home today?" A prick of excitement burst inside me but I know it will do no good to get my hopes up. " No but you will get to leave the hospital for the day and have visit your house with your family." Still confused about why this is all happening I asked "So why are we doing this? Generally confused I waited for an answer. After a moment of silence she speaks " You will just have to wait and see."
When we got back to the hospital my family was waiting their with parcels and funny cone shaped hats on "Happy Birthday Clary!!!" And the it clicked like the lock to my memories had just been picked to allow the memory of a birthday through. I sat on the bed and I was passed a present by my mum and dad beautiful heart shaped diamond earrings. The next parcel front my brother and sister A fluffy blanket, casual clothes and
a fancy dress. The last parcel from my grandparents a beautiful necklace and a knitted pillow.
The rest of the day was just as fun as the beginning they all stayed at the hospital as they chose to go out tomorrow.
