"Hello guests, and welcome to Vidcon 2016!! Sadly, due to technical difficulties, Markiplier's booth will be shut this year. We're very sorry for the inconvenience, and we hope you enjoy your time with us!!" The loud speaker turns off, when it does, a loud hum from the crowd stops. Everything stops, there's no sound, no movement in the auditorium.
Everybody was here for Mark, everybody. I can see people crying, people looking very disappointed.
"Well... That's that." I look at my hands, which are shaking. I begin my long walk back outside of Vidcon. It's too crowded in here. I look at the poster and shirt that I wanted signed by Mark, stuffing them back into my bag.
I go through the EXIT door, breathing in the fresh, warm, summer air in L.A. Adjusting to the light is hard, especially after waiting in a line for so long.
I see a fountain, which looks somewhat peaceful and calming, so I decide to sit on the ledge, and try to calm myself down. Once I reach the sound of gushing water, tears start building up in my eyes. Every blink I take, makes the salty water, drip faster and more. I take a tissue out of my purse, wiping my eyes and cheeks before anyone sees me.
"Why..." I sigh. I'm so disappointed, I came all the way from my-home-town to get here.
"Everything okay?" A security guard asks me, looking a little concerned, but more of, doesn't want anyone getting hurt.
"Not really." I laugh, wiping my eyes again.
"I hope everything turns out okay." He says awkwardly, walking back to the side door.
*PUSH* "I can't believe this. This is ridiculous. People from all around the world came to see me, and I can't even meet them all!" A man snaps. I recognize his voice, but my thoughts are so overbearing, I can barely sum it up.
"I could've met him..." I sob, my tears streaming again. I can't breathe, I'm so upset, I wish.... I wish I could've met him..."Hey, ____, is she okay...?"
"Uhm, I don't know.. Let's go ask."
I feel like I'm being watched, so I look up. My vision is blurry, due to the tears, and makeup running down my face.
"Oh no... Here, dry your tears with this." One of them says, handing me a soft tissue.
"T-thank you.." I say, shaking.
"Have something to drink," the other voice says, handing me a cup of what seems to be water.
"That's really nice of you..." I look up, my eyes now dry, and my vision back."Uhhhhhh....." My eyes are widened. In front of me, stand two of the most popular youtubers in the world. Jacksepticeye and Markiplier.
"Mark!! Jack!!!!" I cover my mouth, trying not to scream.
"Hello!" Jack waves, smiling.
"Hey," Mark smirks.
"Y-you have no idea how much it means to me, to be able to meet you guys!!" I stand up, still short compared to them.
"Want a hug?" Jack asks, reaching out his arms.
"Oh yes please." I smile, stepping closer to him, and wrapping my arms around his body.
"What about me?" Mark asks, stepping beside me.
I grin, hugging him happily. His big strong arms, around my tiny body, making me die inside. I breathe in his scent, before backing away.
"Why were you crying?" Mark asks, cocking his head to the side.
"Umm...." I begin, "I actually came to see you Mark." I look at my bag, full of merchandise I wanted signed.
He sighs, looking at the ground, kicking some dirt around.
"I was upset myself..." He mumbles. "I could've met so many fans." His eyes seem to be looking into the sky. What is he searching for? What mysteries lie behind that famous YouTuber, in his actual everyday life?? What does Mark Fischbach do when he's not making videos??
"I'm sure your fans understand, even if they are a little upset." I smile, putting my hands behind my back.
"What's your name, by the way?" Mark asks,
"Y/N," I respond to his question.
"It was really nice to meet you," Mark smiles, looking at Jack.
"Well, we better be off." Jack nudges Mark, signalling that it's time to go. I stare at Mark's face while he whispers something to Jack.
"Yeah I guess it's time to go eat." He says, shrugging. "Want to come along?" Mark asks, looking into my eyes.
Automatically my thoughts are racing. Should I go with the man that saved my life, or should I go meet up with some friends?
"Yeah, I think that'd be really nice," I smile, nodding at them.
"Then it's settled." Jack says, grinning.
"Let's go," Mark says to me, leading the way.
Walking through the crowd is frightening, even if there are a few bodyguards around us. What if something happens to me, and the two guys think that I staged it? Of course me, I'm over thinking everything...
"Mark...?" I call out to him, he's in front of me, he turns around, walking beside me.
"Yes, Y/N??"
"Do you ever feel, really closed in...?" I ask, not sure where I'm going with this.
"What do you mean?" Mark questions me.
"Claustrophobic," I begin, "do you ever feel claustrophobic around big crowds like this?" I finally push out the right words.
"I used to," he answers. "But I guess it gets more comfortable the more times I do it." He smiles at me. "Why, do you feel claustrophobic?" He asks me.
"A little bit..." I quietly respond.
"Don't worry, me and Sean are here for you," he replies.
"Oh yes, you can call me Sean," He blurts out, making sure I hear.
"Okay," I smile.
After walking through the crowd, we get to a Limousine. The boys get in, then I get in after them. I put my seatbelt on, and wait for one of them to say something.
I'm sitting beside Sean, and Mark is facing us.
"So, Y/N, how old are you?" Sean inquires.
I look at him and say "I'm 21,"
It's actually hard to believe that I'm 21. Soon I'll be 22... In September, and it's already June. Time just went by so fast after I turned 15.
"I was just a bit older than you when I started my YouTube channel," Mark chimes in, looking at me. I nod, already knowing that.
We finally arrive at the restaurant, and I realize.....
"You can't come??" Mark questions.
"I-I forgot my... Money at the hotel...." I begin to get really anxious, and my hands start shaking again.
"Don't worry about it." They both say, at the same time.
"I'll pay for you," Mark smiles, grabbing my hands, to stop them from shaking. I feel heat going over my face, and then I see Mark, take his hands away, scruffing his hair, and a hint of blush goes over his cheeks.
"I-I...." I stutter. "Am I blushing really badly...?" I whisper to him.
"Just a little bit," he chuckles, "But I think I am too, so don't be embarrassed." He smiles, leading me inside.
We sit at the table, order our drinks, and food, and talk more. The restaurant is really beautiful. There's a fountain in the middle of the room, pouring out sparkling water. Little turquoise florescent lights, hidden behind the water, making it appear to be very blue. I can see tiny white stones at the bottom, giving it a more calming feeling.
"Mark!" A girl comes in, sitting beside him. She's in a pretty dress, and black high heels.
She kisses his cheek, and before he has a chance to say anything else she speaks.
"Who is she?" She raises her eyebrows, glaring in my general direction.
"Jenni, that's Y/N." Mark clears his throat.
"Nice to meet y-" I'm cut off.
"Get out of here. They don't have time to deal with pathetic fans like you." She turns her nose up at me, and starts talking with the guy she brought with her.
"Excuse me?" I scoffed, catching her attention.
"Mark and Sean are celebrities, basically." She rolls her eyes at me. "What makes you think they even want you to be here?"
"They invited me." I respond, trying to keep my cool.
"Yeah well you obviously can't take a joke. I don't want you here, so leave!" She's causing a scene, so I decide to leave before it gets out of hand.
I gulp, standing up, and pushing in my chair.
"I-It was really nice meeting you all..." I choke, trying not to bring too much attention to our table.
I start walking out of the restaurant. As I look back, I see Mark and Sean getting upset with Jenni, telling her it wasn't her place to say that.
I just keep walking. Maybe I am pathetic....
My feet walk down the stairs, trying not to trip over themselves. Before I know it, I fall, on a bump right below the stairs. Looking around, hoping no one saw that.
"Mark...?" I ask, the figure I see standing at the top of the stairs. He walks down, lending me a hand,
"Y/N, are you okay...?" He asked, sounding worried.
"I'm fine." I lie, hoping he won't see through my pain.
He bends down, looking at my ankle.
All he can see is blood, dripping down my ankle, off of my shoe onto the pavement.
"That's not 'fine'" he looks up at me. My eyes are full of tears, not because of falling, but because of that woman, saying I was pathetic.
"I..." I begin, but can't finish my sentence, because I start crying.
He brings me close, hugging me, trying to calm me down.
"It's okay, Y/N..." He pats my back. His voice is so soothing, I can't help but stop bawling. He backs away from me, pulling out a tissue from his pocket, and drying my eyes.
"Your eyes are really beautiful... They're such a nice colour." He whispers, looking down at my face.
"So are yours," I respond to him.
"How about we take you back to your hotel, and get you cleaned up?"
"That sounds nice.." I smile, looking down at my ankle.
"Then let's go." He grabs my hand, taking me back to the Limo, the running inside quickly to get Sean.
