Chapter 3 - Surprise

I had to look twice at my phone. What? A like? Already? From Kayla? The most popular girl in the school? I thought she hated me.

Suddenly two more notifocations popped up on my screen:

Hayles_2_Go liked your photo

JayJay like your photo

Wow. Well i can imagine my friends liking it, but Kayla? Hmm.

Two more notifocations came:

LiamIsHot like your photo

Natalie_95 liked your photo

What! This is insane, two more popular people liked my photo! Liam is the most hot popular guy in the school, sadly he is going out with Kayla and Natalie is Kayla's best friend.

I was so surprised that anyone liked it at all!

The night went on and more and more people liked my photo, I even got 3 comments saying:

So cute! from Hayles_2_Go

It was almost 11pm since i was on Instagram so i decided to go to sleep. I placed my phone on my bedside table and turned it on silent knowing that i might get more notifocations.

I pulled my covers over myself and snuggled in. I went to sleep feeling good about myself for posting that photo, oh and beacause tomorrow is Saturday and i didn't need to get up early.

My eyes fluttered open, I looked over at my clock and saw it was 9:05. I smiled to myself remembering it was Saturday. I loved Saturdays, it was the day when Hayley, Jason and I either went shopping, watched a movie, hung out at the Ice-cream Parlor or went to each others house.

My eyes opened wider, also remembering the photo i posted last night. I quickly sat up in my bed and grabbed my phone, looking at the screen. Woah! 40 people liked my photo and i got 5 more comments! It may not sound like a lot to other people but for me this was awesome.

I put my phone back down and got out of bed, stretching my arms and legs. I quietly walked downstairs and got out my favourite breakfast: Froot Loops.

I finished my breakfast and walked back upstairs to get ready for my day out with my friends. Hayley texted me and said that we are going shopping and to the Ice-cream Parlor. Whenever we went out to those places we always saw the popular girls just hanging around taking selfies and making out with their boyfriends.

I put on a floral dress that was above the knee and slipped on my converse. I took my hair out of the pony tail and let my curls hang loose around my shoulders.

I applied a touch of mascara and lip gloss. I heard Hayley's car horn and quickly grabbed my phone and pilot shades and raced to the front door.

"Mum, i'm going out again with Hayley and Jason" I yelled across the room.

I walked out the door hearing my mum reply with an 'Ok, have fun'.

I got into the back seat of Hayley's car, seeing that Jason took the front seat.

"Ready!" Hayley said excitedly.

"Yep! Let's gooo!" I cheered.

We were driving for a while until Jason, thankfully didn't cut the cheese, but asked about my photo on Instagram.

"Hey your photo on Instagram is nice" he said.

"Yeah, you look really hot!" Hayley joined in.

"Haha thanks guys" I said nervously.

We finally arrived at the shopping mall. We got out of the car and headed straight for me and Hayley's favourite shop, Jason tagging behind.

As we were walking we passed the popular girls and boys, some of the girls were looking at me, not in a weird way. They were whispering things to each other, and surprisingly one of them smiled at me. Actually smiled at me! Some of the boys winked at me and gave me seductive smiles. I spotted Liam checking me out. Ugh! I just laughed quietly to myself and kept walking.

Me and Hayley reached our shop while Jason looked in some guy boutique.

"Oooo! Amelia is getting some attention!" Hayley smirked playfully nudging my arm.

"Pfftt! No i'm not, that's nothing" I replied acting like nothing just happened.

"Yes it is and you know it! Didn't you see Liam checking you out?"

"Uh, yeh" I said quietly.

"And you liked it" Hayley said winking at me.

"No I didn't" I rolled my eyes playfully.

The truth was I did like it. I liked being noticed for once.
