"Alright. I'm gonna skim and find where we were."
In the beginning of time the Moon Goddess gave wolves the ability to become men. Her sister, the Sun Goddess, wanted something similar, but not as abundant. Something to show that she was as present as her sister was. The Moon Goddess, loving her sister very much, gave her sister the ability to make a tigress a woman. The Sun Goddess loved the idea. It showed her presence without the sense of arrogance. Every thousand years the Sun Goddess finds one she-wolf and blesses her with the gift of becoming a tigress. The tigress is said to hold power beyond recognition. She is control in the essence of the word. If the girl decides to choose her tigress over her wolf, she will-
"Here we are." I say as I find the place I remember stopping.
She will be seen as the Sun Goddess's true daughter. Those closest to the tigress will be her followers, eventually leaving their own packs and joining a group of their own. Many packs will fear the control she has, but she is more powerful than they are. The tigress must never use her abilities to control a wolf. She is there to be the Sun Goddess's image. The Sun Goddess loves everyone, and holds everyone's safety above her own. This is the role the tigress must play. Along with her loyal followers she will balance out the packs. She will show them that not everything means war, or destruction.
I looked up from the book. "That's all I've learned my entire life. How to fight and destroy people in battle. Why would the Sun Goddess choose me if she knew that's what I would be? That is literally who I am. I'm not a tree hugging peace and nonviolent hippie. I'd love to be, but that's not how this world works." I looked back down at the book. "I don't think being the tigress is right for me. I'm too self centered."
My tiger whined. 'You only know how to fight like you do because of dad. It isn't his fault for preparing us for what the world is going to be like, but we have a chance to change it. Come on Sophie, please just keep reading and see where this goes?' I sighed but looked back down at the book.
All of the pictures were of tigers and sometimes women and men were also in with them. The pictures didn't match what was written. It was like they told a story, where as the book gave a description of everything. I tried to read the story of the pictures and noticed something.
"This picture looks like one of our dreams. The one where everyone is lying on the ground writhing in pain." I looked to the next one and saw that there were several tigers standing and surrounding the white one in the center.
