🐯Sophie 🐯
Connor holds my hand as we walk down the halls towards my dad. Despite his constant reminder that he "isn't scared" of my dad, I can tell he's nervous. His hand is cold, which is almost impossible for a wolf. "Are you ready?" I ask him as we reach the door to my Dad's office.
He nods his head and smiles down at me. "I'm ready whenever you are." He looks back up to the door and knocks twice.
"Who's there?" My dad calls from the other side of the door.
Connor clears his throats and looks down at me. "It's me, Connor. Sophie and I need to talk to you."
The door opens and Connor's hand is ripped from mine as my dad pins him to the wall. "If you got my daughter pregnant, I will make you wish you were never born."
"Dad! It isn't that, I promise." Before he lets Connor go, he looks at me. After a second he releases Connor and walks into his office.
"Then let's discuss it in my office." We trail behind him and I make sure to shut the door before sitting on one of the couches in the room. "Well then. What is it that you want to talk about?"
Connor sits down beside my father's desk in a chair. "Sophie and I have agreed that things aren't as safe as we wish they were." My dad nods and Connor goes on. "We have also agreed that she isn't strong enough to be out in the open, yet anyways."
Dad furrows his brow and turns to me. "What is he suggesting?" His thinly veiled anger is just that, thinly veiled. To even the dimmest of the dim, his rage is clear as day.
I push down my nerves, this is my dad I'm talking to, and look him in the eye. "Connor thinks it would be best if we disappear, until I'm ready to be the tigress. As long as I'm your daughter, I'll always be under watch, and eventually everyone will know what I am. Neither of you can protect me from an entire world of enemies." My dad's rational side must've forgotten to get up this morning because he stands up and growls at me. Me, of all people.
"I will not send the two of you to go and disappear. I may never see you again! You are my daughter, and I will not allow it!" For some reason, I feel this wave of dominance come over me and to my own surprise, I stand too.
"Stop and think for a second. We are only teenagers. For one, we don't expect to be sent out alone. Yes, Connor is an Alpha. That doesn't mean he believes he can protect me by himself." My father slumps slightly, stunned. "Connor mentioned the idea of bringing two adult wolves, one male and one female, to act as our foster parents. They would be there to protect us, and to mentor us." Connor, I guess feeling left out, stands and walks to my side.
Dad looks at the both of us, staring. "Well then." He sits back down, staring off into space. "I'll select a pair of mates to go with you."
"No. I want Hunter to come." Both Connor and my dad turn to look at me shocked. "His grandmother was a tigress and he may be able to help me learn to control my abilities."
My dad nods and rests his head in his hands. "Hunter it is then. I'll choose our best female warrior to go along with you." I walk over to him and hug him before kissing the top of his head.
"I love you dad." I say as I hold onto his shoulders.
"I love you too. Now, you might as well go break the news to your mom. She'll hate it if she hears it from me." I laugh softly and nod.
"Always afraid to take mom's wrath." He nods and gives me a proper hug before Connor and I leave his office.
We reach my parents room and Connor grabs my hand. "I'll wait out here for you." He says as he stares into my eyes.
