I ran across the field to the training building. There were still girls getting questioned and I felt sorry for them. I ran to Miceala who was standing, watching over the girls.
"Hey, so where do I go?" She still didn't look completely comfortable with me.
"Um hold on." She looked around. "Connor!" A guy a bit older than me came running up to her.
"Need something miss?" He asked.
She turned to me. "Yes. This is Sophie Desperte. She's going into warrior training. I want you to start her off."
He looked at me and smiled. "So you're the one that took on a berserker?" I nodded. "Awesome. You're badass. And you're a Desperte?" I nodded again. "Cool, I know your brother."
I smiled. "So you know the idgit that is known as Greyson?"
He laughed a little. "I wouldn't call him an idgit. He's pretty cool actually."
"You sound like one of his girls." I teased.
He laughed loudly. "You think he has girls!" He doubled over with laughter. "Oh, that's rich!" I gave him a confused look. "You're brother is as whipped as Indiana Jones."
"By who?" I asked.
Connor gave me a straight, yet confused face. "His mate."
I had to make sure I heard him right. "He has a mate?" Connor nodded. "He never told us."
Connor pulled a worried look. "He's head over heels for her. Doesn't even look at other girls." I nodded my head, not really sure what to say. "I'll introduce you to her." He walked and I followed. We came up to a boxing ring with a girl squared up against a guy. "Rach. This is Sophie." The blonde girl came to the edge of the ring and smiled at me. "She's your mate's sister."
Rach, who I'm guessing is actually named Rachel, dives out of the ring and pulls me into a hug. "Oh my Goddess, you're so pretty. I mean, he talks about you all the time but I didn't think you'd be this pretty."
"Rachel, who are you- ah shit." My brother stood looking at me and his mate with a slightly scared look. "Look Sophie, I am gonna tell mom and dad, I just want her to be there when I do."
I laughed a little. "It's fine. I get it." I paused and turned to Rachel. "So apparently you have him whipped?"
She got a devious grin on her face. "Baby?"
"Yeah?" My brother immediately replied.
"Can you go get me a water bottle and a towel?" She asked sweetly.
"Of course." My brother turned and went to get her what she wanted.
"I think he's adorable, but yes, he is so whipped." She laughed lightly.
Connor came up to us. "Sorry Rach, but I have to get her into training." Rachel gave me another hug before Connor dragged me away.
"Alright, so what are we starting with?" I asked Connor.
"Hand to hand." I rolled my eyes. "No, just cause you did good up there doesn't mean you'll do good when something is actually fighting for it's life."
I sighed. "Fine. Let's just get through this."
***************
After a few hours of practicing hand to hand combat with Connor I was actually tired. He put up a good challenge, so I'm guessing he was trained well from childhood. I'm not arrogant, it's just that ever since I was ten the only person that could best me was my dad. That's why I have that air around me. I get confident in a fight, and apparently I get scary too.
