She walked gracefully but dejectedly. She held her head up high so the whole world would know that she's okay. Lies. Her eyes tell a whole different story. I can see the slight twinge of water surrounding her beautiful, forest green orbs whenever she looks up, which she rarely does. She doesn't talk much either. She doesn't even speak but I feel like she's told me everything. The moment I saw her we were immediately connected by a silver cord. Thin but strong. She had a way about her that none of the other boys these days are attracted to. They always lean towards the promiscuous, bleach blondes in the short skirts. Lauren was anything but that. She was incorrupt and modest, dressed in big sweaters most of the time. I would often watch her, intrigued by her alluring mystique. Of course though, she would never like me. She never let her guard down for anyone, let alone me. I'm nothing special really, I don't have a 4.0 GPA like my brother, Matt, or a lacrosse scholarship like my sister, Delilah. I was just plain ol' Oliver. There was nothing that really set me apart from the other guys, as for my hair which was dyed turquoise. If you simply must know, yes, I do  in fact dye my hair.

I see her walking now. Her strawberry blonde hair is flowing carelessly behind her. She's wearing one of her sweaters again. The grey one that I like. It's a bit dismal outside, might rain. It did yesterday. I watch as her feet splash into the small puddles of water that slightly reflect her beautiful image. She stops for a second, is something wrong. She freezes dead in her tracks and pulls out her phone. Her hands start to shake violently as she drops the phone and takes off like a deer. I follow after her. What was going on? Did I do something? No Oliver you didn't do anything. I tell myself. Though it's not helping the guilt gnawing at me. Ripping me apart like it's somehow my fault. She doesn't even know me but yet I feel responsible for her. If something bad happened to her I would lose it.
