Arriving on time, Tiffany had her bodyguards trailing her. Unlike Hyoyeon, Tiffany didn't want to continue this rivalry any further. She didn't want to stoop to her level of master manipulation more than she already did. When she took Donghae from her just to get entail about her dealings with the Black Market. That was a low thus far.

Tiffany only did this all for the sake of her beloved brother, Mark. She didn't want to hand him off to Hyoyeon. Different from other stories. It wasn't the girl being arranged to marry someone for business. It was Mark.

This arrangement was made as a last resort, that between the Hwangs and Kims one member of the two families would be married to keep the company standing. The company wasn't doing good like the media perceived. Therefore, it was getting to their last resort.

Tiffany regardless of the rules still refused to have her brother given to someone else that wasn't his choosing. Not to mention that the age gap was significantly large.

It wasn't right. It gave her a bad taste in her mouth. Her parents told her for many years since she was the oldest of the two. She would take the company. A modern twist to the traditional forum. Her father had entrusted in her and her brother to care for each other first then the company because he valued family over riches.

Now it was up to Tiffany to decide what happens next. If it was Mark in her shoes she knew very well that he would do the same for her.

Tiffany already knew about Kai's role in this situation since she was his first ally in this investigation. Both of them worked together to uncover Hyoyeon's secret dealings and who was associated with those trades.

Walking into the warehouse that was on the outskirts of the city. Tiffany heard a gun shot from inside, without much thought she went in.

Donghae was on the ground bleeding out from his midsection with a gun inches away from his fingertips. Another man was on the floor facing down in a puddle of blood. Immediately Tiffany went to him holding his wound to control the bleeding. Krystal, who was in the chair before was gone.

Another gunshot went off from upstairs echoing across the broken down warehouse.

Krystal.

I was running as fast as I could but it felt agonizingly slow. Like I was in one of those dreams where no matter what I do I will never make it to the end. Breathing heavy with dust in my lungs. Adrenaline spread throughout my body. It wasn't the good kind of rush.

Flashbacks of a few minutes ago kept poking my brain.

When the man came downstairs I knew something bad was going to happen. He was holding a gun in his hand preparing a new set of bullets, clicking it in place. He held the cold metal of the black gun to my head. My heart sunk, I shut my eyes tight preparing for the worst thing to happen. Hearing the screeching of the chair against the floor. I saw Donghae leap from his chair taking the man down while grasping his gun. He brought enough time to untie me, "Run! Find Kai" He yelled at me.

Slightly hesitant by leaving him. I knew if we wanted to get help one of us had to make it out. So I ran, I wasn't far from the staircase when I had a gun shot that made my heart drop further. Pushing all possible doubts away. I slowed down my pace once I heard distinct voices.

Kai.

I grabbed Hyoyeon's arm dropping the gun on the ground. I twisted her arm behind her back. "You think that's all I got" She struggled in my grip. "Looks like it is" I whispered into her ear. I heard a gun shot go off outside. Hyoyeon hit my gut with her elbow. Taking the gun off the floor. "Did you honestly think I didn't have a plan? Blondes aren't stupid" She chuckled. "Krystal was always your weakness now she is probably bleeding out and its your fault" She held up the gun backing out the room. "I guess you will join your bitch in hell" She smirked with her finger inches away from the trigger. I was frozen with thoughts of Krystal dying. Life slipping from her beautiful eyes.

Before she could pull anything. Her body collided with the dusty darkened floor. Losing any sense of consciousness. I lift my eyes from Hyoyeon to the person. It was Krystal holding a metal rod in her grasp. I stared at her as she stood in the doorway.

"Are you okay" She dropped the rod. All those pictures that I created in my mind were gone instantly. "Kai" She grabbed my attention with her voice that I thought I was never going to hear again. Without saying a word I rushed to her taking her into my arms. Snuggling my face into her shoulder.

Taking in the unique smell only she had. "We should go" She voiced out bring me back to reality. The reality of the danger that was still creeping here.

The sound of men and sirens approaching. I knew that it was over. All this struggle of keeping my job and my personal life separated was at it's end. I reached for Krystal's hand to lead her out of this place, she refused me. Ripping her hand away from my grasp.

I guess not everything works out like I would like it to.

"Please don't"

This is not how I expected this story would work out but I have one more chapter to finish this whole thing. Hot Mail changed throughout the course of it's chapters from some regular office setting about a girl struggling in her 20s to a whole undercover investigation of the company she was working in. I hope the surprising twist was satisfying enough. Thank you for the support!
