A/N: So this chapter isn't really all that important. It's pretty much just another filler, but I thought it would be nice to add something funny into the mix of emotions. Also, I don't know what form of "mesero/camarero" they use in Argentina or Catalonia/Spain, but I use mesera, so I just put it in there. For those who don't know, mesera means waitress.
Barcelona, Spain- 17 years old
On the way to the breakfast place, Leo and Jade had been talking non-stop about meaningless topics, subconsciously saving the good ones for later on. The ride was short so they didn't have to wait too long to get food. Jade found it hard to admit, but she had felt her stomach growl a few times while they were driving.
Once Leo pulled up to a small restaurant that was attached to a few others, she smiled and removed her seatbelt before exiting the car, not even bothering to wait for him as she ran through the doors as fast as she could. Leo didn't have to do very much to catch up with her as his legs were longer and he was a professional athlete.
"You're such a child, I swear..." Leo muttered under his breath after he had caught up with her.
"I want a booth!" Jade whisper yells to him as they wait to be seated, and it didn't take very long as the place wasn't very crowded anyway. Lionel just nodded in her direction and told the lady when she asked which they would like. She's pretty, probably not much older than us, Jade thought.
She led them over to sit down, handing them the menus and quickly shuffling away, giving Leo an extra wide smile. Jade didn't think anything was out of the ordinary there; after all, Leo was quite the looker if she could say so herself. She smiled at the thought.
Although, that smile quickly dissipated when she looked down to scan the menu.
"That bitch gave me a kids menu. On purpose!" Jade whisper yelled again, this time angrier than the last. Her eyebrows squinted and her mouth made a small pout that she always used to have when they were younger. Leo thought it was cute and laughed.
"Here, just read off of mine. I'm sure there's some kind of a misunderstanding." He couldn't stop laughing and wouldn't wipe the grin off of his face which made her think that he didn't even believe his own words.
"Stop laughing, it's not funny," she whined and softly smacked his arm. He just chuckled to himself once more before handing off his own menu for Jade to read.
They both had decided on drinks and food before the mesera came back. She had taken quite a while for the small amount of people that were here and it seemed like she was doing this to spite Jade.
"Hello again!" She said in an overly cheerful voice, "I'm TJ, and I'll be your server for today. Have you decided on drinks?"
"Yes we have," Lionel said, taking an assuring glance at Jade before turning back to TJ, "I'm going to have un té helado."
"And I'll have un jugo de naranja." TJ nodded and wrote their drinks down before looking back up at them again.
"Alright, and have you managed to find something you would like to eat or are you still looking?" TJ had the most sinister smile on her face that Jade had ever seen on anyone in real life and she knew something was up.
"Yeah, we're ready to order." Leo knew there was some tension in the air after what had happened a few minutes ago and he just wanted to make this experience as enjoyable as possible.
"I'll take the Belgian Waffles with sausage on the side," Jade repeated the order to her.
"And I will have the same, except with bacon." Leo nodded to the mesera as she wrote it down before picking up the menus and stalking away.
