Wo-ah, Wo-ah, I'm radioactive! I'm radioactive! The music blared through my earphones as I watched the trees go by. You wouldn't believe me when I tell you this but apparently I'm something that's called a demigod..I know crazy right? But it's true, it happened just a few hours ago. I just got back from school and I see my best friend, Grover, with my mom who seemed to have a suitcase in her arms, she looked like she just cried and was trying to recover from it.
"Mom, what's going on?" I asked her, she just ran forward and engulfed me in a bear hug. She pulled away after a minute and gently tucked a strand of my black hair behind my ear as she looked at me directly in the eyes.
"Jamie, do you know what demigods are?" she asked in a low whisper. I scrunched my face thinking.
"Um, they're the kids who are half mortal and half god right?" I said uncertainly. My mom nodded and told me I was one of them.
"W-what? Mom that's ridiculous-" I said but she cut me off.
"Just do what Grover tells you..ok..and be safe, I love you," she said kissing my forehead. Most 16 year olds would be embarrassed but not me, my mother was the only family I had. I turned my gaze to Grover who just kept a neutral face. He had a gray jacket on which was covering a orange shirt that said-
"Come on Jamie, we have to go like right now," he said picking up the suitcase. I took one last look at my mother before getting in a van that said "Delphi's Strawberry Express." I was slightly worried about getting in because the first thing taught as a kid was NEVER get into a van. But I trusted Grover so I did what he told me to do and here I am now, listening to my playlist of Imagine Dragons. I love music and literature however, the only downside to it is that I have dyslexia so it's kinda hard to write poems when you can't even read the words right.
Grover tapped me on the shoulder. "We're here," he said. I got out at stared at the sign, the words jumbled up together to form CAMP HALF-BLOOD.
"I-I can read it!" I said amazed. Grover just smiled "that's a good sign," he simply stated as we entered camp. We walked to a really big house which Grover told me was the Big House..kinda ironic if you ask me.

Well this day was getting weirder and weirder. Apparently, my father is one of the gods of Olympus and yadda, yadda, yadda, but the thing I'm most hyped about is that I get to use swords and bows and that kind of stuff! I might even get a chance with the girls here possibly.(p.s. Jamie is a BOY) "Come on Jamie, it's time to eat dinner!" Grover exclaimed while running towards this huge space filled with dozens of campers. I quickened my pace and set down with Grover. As soon as I bit into my food (after offering some to whoever my father was) a symbol of a lyre shimmered above my head.
"All hail Jamie Johnson, Son of Apollo, god of-" Chiron started but someone butted in.
"god of the hottest kids alive!" Some people snickered and some people argued and shook their heads in disagreement.
"We all know that's not true! The Hephaestus kids are obviously the hottest ones here!" A kid with curly brown hair shouted. He had pointy ears and an elfish face. Not to mention he was on fire! A blond girl yanked him back down.
After Chiron finished talking, a group of demigods approached me. "I'm Will Solace, Counselor of Cabin 7 which is the cabin you will be staying in," he said extending his hand for me to shake. So naturally I shook his hand and smiled.
This turned from weird to great!
