Chapter 3 : Red cheeks

Jacob's Pov

Trying so hard to wipe the tears off of my face, "Hi I'm Jacob, Jacob Sartorius" was the only thing I could say without bursting into tears once again. I didn't wanna look at her so I just kept my face down.  Crying in front of girls is the ultimate humiliation. 

"Hey my name's Serena, I just moved here from Maryland a few hours ago" 

"I know its not my business and I know we just met but I couldn't stop myself from hearing the screaming and crashing noises from your house. I had just been exploring the village and saw you suddenly run out. I was wondering if I could help you in any way?" she replies with a concerned tone

Hearing those words from a stranger I just had met, was kind of reassuring. She's actually concerned about me, unlike my family. 

I wipe my eyes one last time and look up to face her. 

"Damn, she's beautiful"  I thought to myself.

She had the most captivating green eyes that I have ever seen. In that moment, I suddenly forgot all about my problems and fucked up life and this doesn't happen very often.

Serena's Pov

While I was talking to Jacob, his head was facing the ground the whole time. I guess he just didn't want me to see his red face and all. I understand him, I'm just curious as to how he ended up in this situation in the first place?

 He starts wiping his face and all of a sudden looks up, and our eyes lock. 

His eyes... those stunning hazelnut eyes. I couldn't stop staring and in that moment, it seemed right. 

His cheeks were as red as tomatoes and he grinned when he saw that I noticed them. 

"I know, I know, my cheeks get red easily okay HAHA" he says with a smile

He had white perfect teeth and a killer smile. I think just I died inside. 

"So you wanna walk around the village with me? And just.. talk about whatever?" He asked

"I'd like that" I say while smiling like an idiot

We walked around the village for hours just talking about anything that would come to mind. He was incredibly easy to talk to and made me laugh countless times. He talked to me about his family and how they would always fight. I told him about mine too and I was so happy to find someone who I could actually relate with. I don't know yet, but I think I might be falling for him. 

"Woah, we've been walking for like 4 hours Serena" He says with a look of surprise

"What?? Omg it's getting late... I think I have to get going!" I reply, even though I so desperately wanted to stay

"Aw I wanted to hang with you longer...How's tomorrow sound? It's summer anyway!" He says with excitement 

My heart skipped a beat when I heard those words

"Sure Jacob! I'll see you tomorrow alright?" I reply 

"Of course! See you then Serena" He says with that stunning smile of his

We hug goodbye then I notice that his cheeks were getting red again

"HAHA you're cheeks are getting red again" I say while laughing

"Oh uh It's just getting cold is all! Bye Serena thanks for today!"

"AHAHA okay bye Jacob thank you as well!" I reply while going into the house

Jacob's POV

Talking to Serena really relieved me from my anger and wrath with my family. No one could ever understand me like the way that she did. Even though we've just met, it feels as if i've known her my whole life. I don't know what it is about her but, she's definitely something special. 

We walked and walked around the village and little did I know that time was running by so fast. Hours spent with her felt like minutes in our own little world. 

I noticed that it was getting late so I decided to tell her that 4 hours had past. 

She told me that she had to go and my heart slightly sank. I asked her excitedly if we could hang tomorrow since it was summer. Man I'm such a dork. 

My heart leaped when she said yes. This girl is making me feel things that I haven't felt in a long time...and I really like it, I really like her. 

We hugged goodbye and I blushed hard

After we hugged she noticed my red cheeks once again and laughed at me with that adorable laugh of hers. Man, I can't get enough of this girl.

We said our goodbyes and I watched her go up to her house. Now walking home, all I can think about is her, and her beautiful green eyes.
