this is a collection of mini drabbles with Ani: the proposal, wedding and pregnancy.
"Hey, y/n, have you ever thought about getting married?" Anakin asked you. You looked up from your book, smiling at the idea of you and Anakin becoming husband and wife.
"Yes, I've thought about it and I would absolutely love to marry you." At your words, Anakin smiled brightly and quickly crossed the room. He took your face into his hands, crashing his lips onto yours. You smiled into the kiss, wrapping your arms around your neck. He pulled away, fumbling with something in his pocket.
"Good. So you'll have no problem with me doing this." He knelt down on one knee in front of you, taking your hands into his own. You gasped in disbelief. "y/n, I have loved you ever since I laid eyes on you. Everyday, you make me smile. Every time I look at you and see your beautiful face, I fall in love with you all over again. I am honoured to be your boyfriend, but I want to be more. I want to wake up next to you and fall asleep to the sound of your heartbeat. I want to hold you in my arms and never let you go. But in order for my dreams to come true, I need to ask you something. y/n l/n—" he pulled out a ring with a f/c gem— "will you make me the happiest man alive, and marry me?"
"Yes, Anakin! I will marry you!" Tears of happiness trailed down your cheeks.
"I love you so much, y/n. So much." Anakin pressed his lips to yours again, the kiss full of passion and gentleness.
You pulled away, panting slightly. "I love you too," you breathed.
—
"Do you, Anakin Skywalker, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?" Your best friend asked. You had wanted your wedding to be secret, so hiring a priest and inviting a lot of people was out of the question.
"I do." He looked into your eyes, amazed at the beautiful colour.
"And do you, y/n l/n, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?" b/f/n asked you.
"I do." You smiled back at Anakin.
"Then by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." b/f/n smiled at both of you, you in your snowy-white dress and Anakin in his black tuxedo.
Anakin dipped you, and you wrapped your arms around his neck before he bent down and kissed you. The kiss was short and sweet, and after you both pulled away you smiled at each other with excitement at the fact that you were now married.
—
Oh no, oh no, oh no. I can't do this, I can't tell him. He'll freak out and absolutely go crazy with fear! Why did I ever think this was a good idea? But you have to tell him, y/n. He literally has the right to know.
"Anakin?" You pushed open the door to his chambers. He smiled softly at you.
"Hey, sweetheart. What's up?"
"Well, we've been married for a year now and—" your voice broke off and you started to cry.
Anakin rushed over, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you into his chest. You buried your face into the side of his neck, muffling your sobs. "Hey, hey it's okay. Whatever it is you want to tell me, I promise I won't laugh at you."
"Do you promise that you don't freak out?" You didn't ask for him not to be scared because you knew he would be.
"Yes. What is it, love?" He chuckled nervously.
"Anakin, I-I'm pregnant." At your words, Anakin smiled brightly and lifted you up, spinning you around. You froze in shock and disbelief from his lack of fear.
"This is what you wanted to tell me? y/n, this is amazing! We're having our own child, starting a family. We've created something beautiful, and I'm proud of you. I love you."
"But, aren't you scared? It'll become a lot harder to hide my pregnancy because the bump will show, and I won't be able to train and-"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Calm down, sweetheart. I don't care about what the others think, and I don't care if I can't become a Jedi Master because of you. I love you, and that's all that matters. Don't you love me?"
"I do."
"Then trust me. We'll take it one step at a time, okay?"
"Okay."
—
Luke's screaming echoed throughout the hallway before being joined by Leia, starting in the nursery and reaching the bedroom that you and Anakin shared. It woke you up, and you groaned softly before turning on the small lamp on the bedside table and shaking Anakin awake.
"Ani? It's your turn." You whispered.
"Are they crying again?" He asked groggily.
"Yeah." You rubbed your nose gently against his. "It's the third time tonight. I went earlier because I didn't want to wake you up, but I'm really tired and I mightn't be able to fall asleep again if I go."
"Yeah, no it's okay, baby. I'll go." Anakin slowly pulled himself out of bed, dragging his feet down the halls.
"Hey, Luke and Leia. Mummy and Daddy are trying to sleep, and we would appreciate it if you kept it down." You heard him whisper to the infants, laughing softly at his words.
But the twins only cried louder. You got out of bed, silently making your way towards the nursery where your husband and young children were. "Damn, kids, you've got your mother's lungs."
"Actually, I think they inherited yours." Anakin slightly jumped at the sound of your voice.
"What? No they didn't. Remember when you yelled at Obi Wan for two minutes straight?"
You laughed at the memory. Obi Wan had sent Anakin on a mission, in which he returned severely wounded with two broken ribs. "Yeah, but remember when you screamed at the sight of the spider in our bathroom last week?"
Groaning at the mention of it, he rolled his eyes. "Fine. You win."
Without either of you noticing, Luke had grabbed onto your finger and was now cooing softly. You flashed Anakin a grin, before turning your attention to the blond infant beside you. "Hey sweetheart. Did you have another bad dream?"
He smiled slightly, tiny dimples showing. You bent down and scooped him up, cradling him in your arms. Next to you, Anakin picked up Leia.
"Shall we get them into our bed? They'll be less likely to cry if we're with them." You suggested.
"Sure."
You brought them back to your bedroom, switching off the lamp and settling beneath the covers. You lay on your side, Luke curled up next to you. Anakin slept in the same position, facing you.
"Aren't they just adorable?" You stroked Luke's small tuft of hair.
"Yes, they are. Just like you." He smiled, before leaning in and kissing you.
You pulled away, smiling. "I love you so much, Ani."
"I love you too, and I'm so happy that I get to spend my lifetime with you."
