"Ani, honestly, I can't," you laughed as he grabbed your hand and twirled you into his arms. "I mean, this evening has been so nice, but I can't."

His reply was a pout, a moue of disappointment. "But your hands are freezing! Surely you can stay for a few more minutes...?"

My mother will start to worry / Beautiful, what's
your hurry?
My father will be pacing the floor / Listen to the
fireplace roar
So really, I'd better scurry / Beautiful, please

"I'm sorry. Really, I am, but I have to go."

"No." Anakin crossed his arms, pouting like a child. "It is too damn cold outside for anyone, least of all you."

"Ani, honestly, I have to go." You firmly shook your head, tone serious. "Babe, I want to stay, but I can't. My mum-"

"What's the rush?"

"I... my dad-"

"It will be fine." He wrapped his arms around your waist, staring down into your eyes. "I'll take care of it. Baby, please, just stay."

You sighed. "It's way too soon, I mean my parents don't even know about us and I am scared shitless that they won't accept you. I know, it's stupid and it's silly and dumb, but I just think that we should wait. That's why I have to go." Pulling away from his hold, you pressed your lips to his gently.

As you turned away, he took hold of your hand and twirled you back into his arms. "You are so beautiful," he murmured, brushing back a strand of your hair.

"Ani..." You whined. "Stop charming me with your mouth. It's not fair."

"I'm sorry, am I"- he pressed a kiss to your neck, trailing them up to your chin- "distracting you?" Bumping his nose against yours, Anakin stared into your eyes before kissing you.

I ought to say no, no, no / Mind if I move in closer?
At least I'm gonna say that I tried / What's the sense in hurting my pride?
I really can't stay / Baby don't hold out

"Yes," you whispered with a sigh. "But I can't stay! I really ought to say no..."

"You are driving me absolutely insane." He shook his head, smile wide. "Don't leave me hanging, darling. Just stay with me."

"Ani... I really can't..."

I've got to get home / Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me your coat / It's up to your knees out there

"Hey, do you have a jacket I could borrow? I seem to have lost mine..." You checked through the coat rack, trying to find your coat. "Ani, seriously, have you seen-"

Turning, you saw how close he suddenly was to you. "Anakin-"

"It is too cold outside. You will freeze out there, and every inch of the ground is covered in that bloody snow." Anakin rolled his eyes as you laughed. "Please stay with me? It's cold, but the fireplace is warm..."

You took both of his hands in yours. "Darling. You've truly been grand, but I have to go. I'm sorry, Ani, really I am. If there was any other way-"

"Please? I need you to stay. I need you, y/n. Don't walk out on me." He frowned, turning away. But with a sigh, he relented. "But... if you want to go, then I suppose I'll-"

"Ani, okay. You win. I'll stay." You smiled.

Anakin just about lit up like a Christmas tree. "You will?"

"Okay, yeah. I mean, it's way too cold outside-" You laughed as he rushed over to kiss you.
