A&D: Enjoy the story!
~Delilah’s pov~
I walked slowly up the stairs, wanting them to end. I was fit, but man; I was so tired after climbing all the way up! And all the way up, my boyfriend, Astral whom many people cannot see, and or hear, was rambling about this place. He was so nice, hot, smart, and awesome, but sometimes he went overboard on his “smartness”. He kept rambling about “this person did this here” and “this important event happened here” ect. It just got plane annoying after awhile. “Would… You… Shut… Up!” I wheezed.
He wore a hurt expression as he turned his back on me. “Fine. I will shut up.”
“Wait! Astral…” I shouted as he floated off. “Fine. Leave.”
“I will.”
He disappeared into my necklace. Whenever we fought, I always counted my blessings. He could easily go back and live with my cousin, leaving me without a best friend, a boyfriend, a partner for work, and a partner in crime, so to say. I frowned down at my necklace as my sunglasses slipped down my nose. The necklace had been a gift from my late sister. It was composed of a blue marble at the top, and swirled silver underneath. It was at least three inches in length, and weighed two pounds.
I looked up, my frown replaced with a look of determination. I would finish this mission (or start it, anyway) with, or without him. I had reached the top of the stairs now. My breathing was coming in short breaths now. “Man, I must be more out of shape than I thought!” I muttered.
Astral would usually retort to that, but, seeing as he was not there, no retort. It had been a few mere minutes since he left, but I missed my tour guide, and I felt like I was missing a part of me. With a flick of my hair, I decided that I wasn’t going to be the one that gave in this time. I chuckle before leaning against the rock wall.
I noticed quite a large puddle next to me. It was like a mirror. With a glance over my shades, I could see my whole appearance. My long blonde-brown hair was to the middle of my back, covering the back of my black leather jacket. When I turned slightly, I could see my white tank top underneath it. My legs were covered with long, dark jeans. On my feet were my favorite combat boots. My hair curved over my right eye, completely covering it. I wore a black baseball cap to cover a secret.
I reached up to adjust it, and my sleeve fell back to reveal a golden bangle. When exposed to light, you could just see the faint carving in the side. I quickly dropped my gloved hand, and my sleeve covered it once again. My uncovered eye peeked over my sunglasses. They are a dark forest green.
I stood up and flung my brown pack over my shoulder. My other group members were around here somewhere. My eyes flicked over the right side of the monument, and then to the left. They rested on two people standing at the base. I quickly decided that it was them. I strode over to the two figures, a frown on my face.
“Yes?”
“I’m looking for a Taylor Autumn Silverstorm. Have you heard of her?”
“What is the square root of 46,837,587,653,957?”
“6,843,799.21.”
“Very well. I’m Taylor. I assume you’re Delilah Hope Willows.”
“You assume correct.”
We took a moment to study each other. She had long red hair, streaked with white and black here and there. It was in a braid down her back, with a pin holding it together. Around her neck was a gorgeous necklace that looked like it was made of platinum. On the necklace was a strange symbol, it looked like a griffin, but there was something off about it, something I couldn’t quite place, and this annoyed me. She looked as if she would rather kiss or flee than fight, but I knew from her green and golden eyes it was quite the opposite. Her lips were full and her brows plucked, but as I watched, her brows knit together than back, together than back, and when they were together, she looked quite different, as if she had never seen a shower in hr life. But when they were back she was quite clearly model material, though it would be hard to find an outfit to match her hair. She was slim and wore plain clothes, combat-style. Her shoes were like moccosins, only browner. She looked about the same age as me, seventeen. I blinked as I glance up at her face again. She was taller than me, as I stood at five foot four inches. I would take a gamble that she was five-eight-ish. That was an inch taller than Astral. Thinking of him made me frown. With a choked back sob, I thought about this morning, and how I made it to Austria.
~Flash back~
I walked out of my last day of school, my last day of dying of boredom. “One more day in there and I would have died of boredom!” I exclaimed to no one in particular.
Astral took that exact moment to appear out of my necklace. There was a flash of light, and then there he was, in all his blue and white floating glory. He was possibly the cutest person ever. He was five-seven, and had green markings all over his blue body. Where the light shown on him, he appeared white. His hair was slightly lighter than his body, and stood in a weird curved/spiky style, which was oddly cute. His eyes are one of his best features. The right one was gold, and the left was white. He usually had a small frown, or a straight face. But when he smiled, it was like the sun shown a little brighter.
“I highly doubt that you would die. That’s impossible.”
“Astral! I was being sarcastic!”
“But it’s physic-“
“I know.”
He rolled his eyes and smiled a beautiful smile. Then he came to eye level and hugged me. I smiled and hugged back. I was the only one at this stupid school that could see him. So I always got weird looks, but luckily, nobody was in the courtyard at this time. We let go, and I smiled. I almost wished that he would kiss me, but he never would. I doubted that he even knew what a “kiss” was. I frowned and looked down.
I heard him sigh. He put a finger under my chin and lifted my head up. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing…”
“I highly doubt that. You can tell me anything.”
“…”
“Delilah, I-“
Just then my phone buzzed. Both of us snapped our eyes toward my back pocket. It buzzed again, and only one of my phones buzzed: My work phone.
Quickly, I pulled out the black berry, and read the text. “Go to airport immediately. Got a new mission. More later. – Krage(my boss)”
I frowned and looked up at Astral. He gave me a quick nod before we raced to my car and drove off. I sped (literally speeding) off down the road. I had a small sticker that made it so no cop pulled me over. I wasn’t quite sure how it worked. All I knew was that it worked.
On the way, my phone buzzed again. Astral grabbed it from the cup holder and read the text. He then read it out loud,” Get on flight 104 to Austria. There you will meet Taylor Autumn Silverstorm and a male. Hurry. You will get more information once you have met up. – Krage”
I nodded then turned into the air port. In a matter of minutes, we were on our way to Austria.
~End Flash Back~
Just then, a voice broke my thoughts.
