Five minutes later, the doctor was questioning us, the look on his face getting more and more confused by the moment.
“So, what happened here?”
“Well, we were watching a movie at my house,” I started, making it up as I went along. “She didn’t know that I had put the seasoning stuff on it, and she’s like, deathly allergic. She had an allergic reaction.”
“I see.” The doctor scribbled something down on his pad. “We’ll just give her something for the swelling and for the hyper-active hearing.” The doctor noted.
“Ummm...”
“Oh, and her hat needs to come off.”
“That’s not a good idea.” I growled, making sure he knew I wasn’t kidding.
“Why not?”
“Ummm... Cross your heart and hope to die if you tell anyone. Or if the nurses tell anyone. Or if anyone in here who finds out tells anyone.”
“Ummm... ok?”
“Cross. Your. Heart.” The doctor made a motion as if to cross his heart.
“Cross my heart and hope to die, anyone who finds out and tells is on me.” He swore.
“Ok, well, she’s neko.”
“Ah, I see No big deal.”
“Wait... WHAT? YOU ACTUALLY BELIEVE IN THAT SORT OF STUFF? WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR ARE YOU?”
“The kind who gently responds to any lies anyone tells. Off with her hat.”
I grumbled something incoherent to everyone, even me, then pulled her hat off. Her brown ears popped out from under her hair in a drowsy position. “Wha-?! I didn-! Ho-?” The doctor spluttered in astonishment. I just looked over at James and snickered. He was actually clutching his stomach and laughing aloud.
“I can’t believe! Oh my Gandolf...” He roared with laughter, and I found it extremely attractive, to say the least.

Three hours later, Delilah woke up. The swelling had gone down considerably, and she had nearly returned to normal.
~Delilah~
When I awoke, the burning sensation in my arm had disappeared. The dull throbbing was still there, much to my great distress. I sat up slowly, observing the very white room around me. Like I said, it was very white. With a quick glance out of the window, I could tell that it was about midnight. I took a deep breath, and sterilization smells hit my nose. My face screwed up into grimace as the idea came into my head. I was in a HOSPITAL!!
I shrieked, to say the least. I hated hospitals. I jumped up, and grabbed my coat, jammed my feet into my shoes, and slammed my hat on my head as I ran.
I made it outside before anyone took notice that I was gone. I had come to the conclusion that Astral had gone with James and Tay to where ever they had gone. I kept running north for the next three hours, to my safe spot that I had found years ago. Nobody but me knew about it, not even Astral. He respected that I needed get away sometimes.

I almost didn’t notice Delilah was gone. Until she was long gone. Jeez, that chick must have super-speed or something. And with my strange abilities, I didn’t doubt it. “Locate.” I murmured. Instantly, a top-down picture of D sprinting appeared in my mind. I just wanted to shout at her that no matter how far she ran, I would always be able to locate her and be running with her in a second. I murmured, “Transport.” And was on my way. Then I forced my molecules into the form of a uni, and murmured to her mind to get on.
~Delilah~
I frowned at her. “No. I muttered bluntly.
She gave me a look that said ‘or else’
“I. D. C.”
She huffed, seeing that I was serious.
“I just need some time alone,” I said with a tight throat.
She gave me a side long glance before I heard her voice in my head.
‘I’ll ask Astral, then.’
“It’s not like he knows.”
‘Please come back, Astral’s worried!’
“No he’s not. He knows that I need to get away sometimes.”
She narrowed already narrow eyes, a I had just seen right through her plan.
‘Fine.’ She hissed in my mind before disappearing.
I gave a small sigh as I felt my eyes start to mist. A sudden thundering sound blared through the forest. Then, the rain started to pour down. I gave off a his before bounding off further into the green foliage. I soon reach the clearing. It was full of brightly colored flowers. In the center was a small pool of water that was supplied by a waterfall. I loved this place, but I had never felt so lonely. My parents had died in a hospital, and I was there with them. That’s why I hated hospitals. I found myself with a dire need for Astral at that moment.

Upon her not coming back, I made it rain. And when I say rain, I mean torrential downpour. I saw her quietly slip into a clearing where a waterfall resided.
Knowing that she was no way she would listen to me at this point, and there was nothing I could do to make her listen, I turned into a squirrel and ran across the clearing, perching on top of a nearby rock, minding my business like I thought a squirrel would. I was cracking a nut, and I was terrible at it too. Turns out, I was far too focused on cracking the nut, and by the time I remembered to listen for her, she was long gone.
~Delilah~
I frowned up at the small squirrel up above me. It wasn’t quite normal. For one thing, it was orange. For another, it took way too long to crack the nut. I frowned at it again then summoned my longbow and quiver, then hid in the trees across the lake. Nobody ever saw me in the trees. I took aim, then shot, purposely shooting off by a few millimeters. I then turned and ran in a southern direction.

When an arrow whizzed off next to my head, I jumped five feet in the air, changing into a dragon reflexively. I was golden and orange, orange like those leaves in autumn. I used my amazingly awesome sight to try to locate Delilah, but it didn’t work. She was to well hidden.
Once I landed again, I magically located her, then contacted James, telling him Astral was still in the necklace as far as I knew. Then I transported to a good restaurant near Delilah’s location, telling James to meet me there in half an hour, disguised, of course.
It was a cute little diner that I was almost certain Delilah would come to and enjoy. I was disguised as an emo freak, which was my usual disguise, so James would recognise it, but there was no way Delilah would, since she had never seen it. I had even changed my face shape and stuff. Only my eye color remained the same.
Soon, the waitress came and took my order. I ordered a steak, medium rare and told her that a friend was coming. After my drink came, James walked in and I mindfully warned him to call me Glow, which was a weird spur-of-the-moment nickname I had randomly come up with three years ago when I started my job at the agency. He told me to call him Ethan, which I was not a big fan of. But, we had to if we were going to keep pace with Delilah. Three minutes after the food arrived, Delilah walked in, I kept one eye on her, and the other on James. I finished my steak and mashed potatoes five whole minutes before James finished his salad. I saw her glance over at us, and immediately put a distant look on my face, as if I was in la-la land.
~Delilah~
I glanced at the table across the restaurant. A quite odd couple was sitting there. An emo and a nerd. The nerd looked a lot like James. I stole another glance at their table, then stood up abruptly. Something felt WAY wrong. I whirled around and saw a thin man siting behind me. He had short brown hair, and dark brown eye, the kind that houses mystery. I frowned at him. He had been staring at me. His already narrow eyes narrowed, until they were almost closed. I whirled arojund, and stalked out. What was with my past creeping up on me today?
