Budo's POV
"See! I knew you could do it!" I reached my hand out for a high five and smiled when she returned hers.
"Only because you helped me." she giggled
"Oh, there's plenty more batter, try one by yourself then."
"No- don't move." an awkward silence occurs on us as both of our cheeks start to colour a rosy pink and our hearts begin to race.
"Hey." I said, trying to break the silence
"Hey" she turned away from my eyes
"I lo-" I stop myself. What was I thinking? We'd been together for less than a day, I can't just keep throwing those three little words around willy nilly. Although, I meant it. I waited years to be able to say it to her, and now I can, knowing she feels the same way.
"I love you too Budo," she says, kissing her soft lips on my cheek, "But these pancakes aren't going to flip themselves." she laughed. It's strange how I hadn't seen her laugh at all since we were little, but now it felt like I had heard her laugh, and watched her smile since forever.
"Alright, alright. I have to let go of you for a second to get the pancake mixture, don't miss me too much, m'kay?" I teased
"Funny. Hilarious even." she smirked sarcastically. I got the pancake mixture and poured some in the pan. Then, I went behind Ayano and connect my right arm next to hers. I rested my head on her shoulder and my other arm hugged around her waist.
"Okay, you ready? It's all in the wrists."
"Alright master chef."
I guided her hand to flip the pan, and sure enough the pancake landed perfectly - causing the aroma of sweet breakfast to erupt through the kitchen.
"Mm. Smells delicious." she sniffed up in the air like an excited puppy, it was so cute.
"I think we have enough for one more."
I tip the last of the mixture into the other frying pan, getting a little on my fingertips. This gives me an idea.
"Hey, Ayano." I say. She turns around unsuspecting, so I spread some of the batter on her nose and laugh.
"Budooooooo." she sighed. I kiss her nose, tasting the batter I had wiped on her.
"Delicious." I winked, causing her to burst out in laughter.
"Budo Masuta, that is the lamest excuse to kiss a girl ever. But it's also one of the cutest." she winked back

Once we had finally finished breakfast, we left the house. I wore a white shirt, some black jeans, black shoes and a black jacket. Colourful as always.
Ayano wore a black shirt, dark blue skirt, coat and grey scarf, with some boots. It was meant to be cold today, so I understood her preparation. I guess she listened to me, because she wore her hair down that day - and she looked beautiful. Not that she doesn't always look stunning and flawless.
Nobody knew us in Shisuta town, since neither of us had really been. To be honest, we looked like an adult couple anyway - so we wouldn't have to worry about being in trouble for staying off of school.
We got to the centre and I payed for our entry and use of the boats - which surprisingly was quite cheap.
"It's beautiful.." Ayano stared at Nise no Kawa, truly mesmerised - not that I could blame her.
"I know you are." I winked putting my arm around her shoulders. She chuckled at this.
"Alright cheese master, got any more?"
"I'm definitely enjoying the view. The view is beautiful, and the river isn't half bad either. I love the way your eyes sparkle in the light. Did I mention that compared to you, this river could be a toilet?"
"Are you done?"
"Oh I could go on forever sweet heart."
"Please don't." she laughed
We walked over to the river and got into one of the boats, there was a man in it too, whom's job was to row the boat - so we could sit back and enjoy the ride.
I put my arm around Ayano, causing her to nuzzle up to me. It had started getting extremely cold, so we warmed eachother up.
"Yuki! Yuki!" Ayano pointed out the snow falling from the sky.

Ayano's POV
As if our date couldn't get better, it started snowing. I had always been fascinated by snow. I found it amazing how each and every snowflake was different in it's own way.
"Yuki! Yuki!" I shouted, pointing at the sky. Yuki is the Japanese word for snow, so I guess it just kind of slipped out.
"I'm guessing you like the snow then." he smiled
"I love it! Sakura trees and snow go together like bricks and cement!"
"Almost as stunning as you."
"My god Budo." we both laughed
When we finally stopped, our eyes locked on eachother. It felt like an eternity. Finally, we both began slowly leaning forwards. We both knew where this was going.
"Are you sure?" Budo whispered in my ear while tucking some loose strands on hair behind it at the same time.
I nodded. Normally I would never kiss on the first date, but Budo was different. He genuinely cared about me and wanted the best for me.
It may have just been a day, but it felt like forever. I felt as if I had known Budo my whole life, not just through my window.
That's when it happened. Our first kiss was magical. Our soft lips pressed together was like two puzzle pieces finally coming together to make something beautiful. Everything was perfect. If the snow wasn't a sign that we were meant to be together, then us being here with one another was proof enough for me. I loved him - and he loved me. That is all that mattered.
He caressed my cheek with his hand, which surprisingly even in this weather was as warm as his heart.
This was the start of something beautiful.
This was the start of us.
