Three Little Words [Ayano x Budo]

Chapter 22 // Monday

Ayano's POV
"Taro.." Budo said
"Yeah. He cut my cheek too." I said
"Oh. That's where that came from." Shin looked down
"Are Taro and Mei connected in any way?"
"A long time ago they were good friends." Kokona sighed
"I see." Ayano murmured
"It's been a long day, maybe me and Ayano should go home.." I suggested, wrapping my arm around Ayano
"What about Musume?" Shin asked
"Sho said she's fine. Mei is with the police. Everyone have fun. We'll see you tomorrow." Budo said, turning with his arm still around me. Budo knows me well enough to know that I wanted to leave.
"Don't be such a party pooper." Juku said, making Budo annoyed
"Listen here you little shit, we're going home. If you have a problem with that, please consult someone that gives a fuck." Budo said, clenching his fists.
"Budo.." I said, placing my hand on his chest to stop him getting aggressive, "Let's just go home."
Budo gave Juku a stare down before turning back around and grabbing our stuff. We walked all the way to the changing room in silence.
"I'm sorry Ayano."
"Sorry? For what?" I asked, helping him change back into his regular clothes
"I didn't mean to drag you away when you were having fun. You can go back if you want."
"Are you kidding me? I wanted to leave just as much as you did. So I should be thanking you."
"Oh. Alright. I'm sorry for getting angry again."
"I get it Budo, Juku's a huge prick at times." I laughed it off
"I just want to be strong, for you."
"I know Budo, I know. But right now, I need to make sure you're okay. Don't forget, you got stabbed."
"How could I? Hurts like a bitch." he smiled
"That's better. I like your smile." I poked him on the nose
"I can take care of myself Ayano. I just need a nap and I'll be good as new."
"Bullshit. Budo, you may act like the tough guy at school, but you're not like that."
"Wow thanks for the boost in confidence.."
"Not like that, I mean that you show your sensitive side to me. I like that."
"Well, good." He said, picking up the beach bag with all our stuff in it, "Ready?"
"Yep, let's go home." I said, taking his hand

"What time is it?" Budo asked
"It's 2pm and it's been a long day."
"Sure has.." Budo sighed
"The school says you don't have to come in tomorrow." I added
"I'm going."
"Budo, you're injured."
"I don't care, I just wont go to MA club. They can't refuse me of my education."
"Alright, alright. But you are not leaving my site for one minute."
"When do I ever leave you on a normal day?" Budo shrugged
"That's true." I realised
"Ayano, I really do love you."
"I love you too Budo. Which is why I talked to Pippi."
"That's great! Do they know anywhere?"
"She says there's an apartment near them with dirt cheap rent. It's a really nice place too."
"We can go see it after school or next weekend. It sounds great!"

- Time skip to the next day, Monday -

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
Stupid alarm clock.
"Morning." Budo said in his raspy voice
"Good morning." I returned
"You want some toast?"
"Sure." I yawned
"It'll be a few minutes." he said, getting up and walking to the kitchen.
I got up and got dressed. I decided not to wear my hair up today, just for a change. I brushed my hair and walked downstairs.
"Here." Budo passed me some breakfast
"Are you alright Budo?"
"I'm fine." he said grabbing his shoulder
"Budo.. Did you take your painkiller?"
"Y-Yeah." he lied
"Don't lie to me Masuta. You need to take it. Did you take it last night?" he stayed silent, "Why not? It'll stop the pain."
"It doesn't matter."
"Yes it does Budo. You're in pain."
"Fine. The last time I took a pill was when they tried to stop, or at least calm down my anger.. It just made me worse in the long run. I just stopped taking medication all together." he shrugged
"Budo you got stabbed! Please take it. Please." he stared at me for a second before finally answering
"Fine. For you." he went in the cabinet and got out his pills, then grabbed a glass of water. I held his hand as he took his medication.
"See? It wasn't that bad, was it?"
"Whatever. Just eat your toast." he kissed me on the forehead and went to go get dressed. I ate my breakfast and brushed my teeth when I heard a loud bang in the bedroom followed by Budo shouting
"Ah fuck!"
"Budo!" I shouted and ran to our room

Budo's POV
I was getting dressed when all of a sudden I just collapsed from the pain. Maybe Ayano was right. I should have taken the painkillers straight away.
"Ah fuck!"
"Budo!" Ayano shouted and ran to me
"I'm fine." I lied, unconvincingly
"Stop trying to act all tough Budo, it's me. What happened?"
"I just tripped over something, I'm fine I promise." I said standing up and kissing her cheek
"Are you sure you should go to school today?" she asked
"I'm sure. Are you ready? Lunch is in the kitchen."
"I'm ready." we went into the kitchen and Budo put our bento boxes in his jacket pocket.
"Then let's go." he intertwined his fingers with mine and we began walking to school.
"Good morning!" Kokona and Shin waved as we walked nearby
"Morning!" we smiled back at them. They walked across the street to catch up with us and we began to walk with them to Akademi High.
"Budo are you sure you should be coming to school today?" Shin asked
"For fuck's sake-" Budo got annoyed
"Budo's fine!" I interrupted, "He's fine."
"Okay okay damn." Shin said laughing
"Have any of you guys seen Saki? She won't talk to me and I don't know why." Kokona asked
